"Matt & his team have a jewel here!! The Inn was so good we didn’t want to leave The area is a challenge if you are a nervy driver but I found it pretty easy when you embraced the local way of life The room was stunning & Huge! The shower was perfect & we were so comfortable in the biggest bed I have ever seen! A few cobwebs aside( we are in the countryside future guests!) Beautifully located in a valley & close to Dartmoor & Buckland Abbey we got out & about & there was so much to do & explore The meals in the Inn were excellent & well researched, loved the use of everything locally, & the best part of the stay was talking to Fiona & having a wonderful crafted breakfast freshly cooked with toast , butter and tea & coffee, no continental choices so embrace the cooked food Fiona was amazing & we loved her food and beautiful personality Thank you Matt, & the whole team & thank you Fiona for looking after us every morning!"

"Location, parking, staff, restaurant, bar and beds were all great. Clean too but the building is old and could do with some updating. Price reflected this though so not an issue. Staff were above great and really made the experience pleasurable. Views of Plymouth Sound were spectacular. Across the road you are instantly on Dartmoor. Being able to take our dogs was the best about it all. Someone even brought their horse and tethered them in the small field whilst they came in for a drink. Thank you we will visit again."

"The Host is just the Best. Wonderful Hostess, beautiful Apartment, Extremely Neat Amenities with all things provided. Breakfast provided. It's the best place I have stayed yet."

"Room was lovely and well kept but could do with more hangers and maybe a bigger fan (equipped with one small fan) as the room did get quite warm at night. The shower also didn't seem to have much hot water however felt refreshing after a warm night! The staff were really friendly and helpful , the food was great and the manor was really well decorated. The views out were lovely and we highly recommend it. Especially if you want a quiet friendly get away and only 2 mins from dartmoor zoo"

"I stayed here for 4 nights during a work trip to Plymouth. I wanted some peace & quiet after long stressful working days. The hotel took longer than I expected to reach from the city centre, especially in rush hour traffic. I am conflicted over that as I have loved my stay, but I haven’t liked the morning & evening commute. I moved rooms twice in my four night stay. Once at my request as the room was small & very overlooked.. I was moved to a larger, quieter room with more privacy & a much nicer bathroom. Then I got moved again as I requested an extra night & the room I had been moved to wasn’t available although other rooms were. What I have most adored is the beautiful terrace to the rear of the hotel overlooking the golf course and a magnificent landscaped grounds. If you’re a tree lover, you’ll be in tree heaven. If you like wildlife, you’ll adore spotting deer. House Martins were flitting through the sky. It’s a remarkably tranquil place, even with golfers out on the course."
