"We had a great stay at this hotel. Very convenient with a baby. They provided a crib and everything is walking distance (shops, restaurants, hospital). The room was nice, comfortable bed, the staff very helpful. Beautiful terrace for sunset and dinner. Breakfast was great, but to note that they only open at 7am on the weekends vs 6am weekdays."

"The ambiance of the hotel in general, is quite pleasing. Super friendly staff are quite willing to answer any questions that staff may have. The rooms were clean, functional, The layout of the property with its lush tropical gardens gives it an advantage, considering it's surrounded by small homes and businesses, and a busy highway very close by."

"Upon arrival we were already concerned about the surrounding area which I will say is very sketchy and neither one of us felt safe outside the hotel. The hotel is surrounding by iron gates and razor wire. The free parking is located across the street and just a little way down the street. The security gate is opened from the hotel. It is a dirt / rock / and broken tile lot with many holes to navigate around. When you’re done parking you have to negotiate your way across a large roadway back to the hotel. The attendant on duty was super nice and caring. There is no elevator on the hotel and there are lots of stairs to walk up and down - with your luggage and bags. My wife has a bad knee and was struggling . When we got to our room, the bed was a double bed , not the 2 queen room we reserved. The attendant went all the way back to the little lobby “to see” if he had a room with 2 queens. He returned to take us to our new room which meant we had to go back up and down stairs to get back to the lobby then go in another direction up and dow more stairs carrying our luggage again to our room where there were 2 queens and not much more. It was pretty tight in the room and both of us stubbed a toe trying to walk around. We decided we were going to try to sleep and leave on the morning, as we were not going to do all the stairs everyday, plus we did not feel safe at all. I made a new reservation at a different hotel that night and we left in the morning. "

"We stayed 2 nights at this charming hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the courtyard was cute. Our only complaints were that the bed was much firmer than I prefer, and that there was not a refrigerator, microwave, or coffee maker in the room, as most of the places we stay have. Other than that, the room was lovely and the shower had good water pressure and hot water."

"We had such an amazing experience at Posada el Quijote. Prior to arrival, Fernando helped us secure a great deal on a car rental with a company that was conveniently able to do pickup/drop-off at the hotel for no extra charge. The property is a beautiful old private home that has been converted to a boutique hotel with tons of character. Our room was very quiet, daily freshly prepared breakfast was delightful, the pool was lovely, and all staff were fantastic. Fernando was super helpful in assisting us find alternative accommodations when we unexpectedly needed to extend our stay in San Jose as Quijote was fully booked. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to San Jose!"

"Unfortunately they are Definitely still working out the kinks of a new hotel - Location is fabulous, rooms are new clean and beautiful and the staff was kind. The Censes restaurant left lots to be desired and the logistical mishaps of the front desk charging and lost and found procedure was a bit exhausting…. Hope to try it again one day but maybe after they worked all the kinks out. "
