When we arrived, we met the owner who informed us that we were getting an upgrade and then were ushered into this unbelievable suite with 700 year old painted walls, beautiful furnishings, and lots of space. We had an issue with the transport to the hotel and the lovely receptionist went out of her way to assist in resolving the issue as well as arranging a taxi to the train station. Best hotel experience ever. Highly recommend.

This was my second time staying at Palazzo Niccolini Al Duomo and loved every minute of it! The staff are so friendly and welcoming – and the place is simply beautiful. You have the view of the Duomo in every room.

The property itself could be a gem. Great views, very nice staff. But the place was so dirty and not maintained. It is not a 5 star hotel no way. That said, it had character. With some minimal renovation work, some paint, and new floors and cleaning - they could have something special. But I would not recommend. Far better places for less money.

What a delightful stay! Such a unique and lovely accommodation that is the palatial home of the managing owners. Adjacent to the Duomo plaza, we could see the dome from our room and there were plenty of dining and shopping options. Walkable to all the best of Florence! Friendly and gracious staff!

Spectacular small hotel right in the heart of Florence. This place is unbelievably close to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore...as in, it is almost adjacent to it. Our room was exceptional and the staff was attentive. We only wished that we could have stayed longer. One note...we brought a rental car to this hotel, and reaching it through the streets of Florence was fairly challenging. If you do that, I would plan ahead and get clear arrival instructions from the hotel in advance, as relying on guidance from a map app may not work well. Overall, a beautiful hotel!

Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo is a gem and exceeded our expectations. We had views of the Duomo from our very large windows. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Our room was amazing with every detail designed to take you back in time, but with modern amenities. I highly recommend, especially due to the proximity to all of the major sights and museums.

Very central. Easy to walk everywhere and very close to duomo. The rooms are large with a small AC, so if you go in summer keep in mind it is hard to cool the rooms down. Bathrooms not air conditioned but large and nice. Small boutique hotel with accommodating staff and a good breakfast

This is an excellent hotel and in most respects a five star hotel. The positives are a beautiful historic building with frescos on the ceiling and antique furniture several centuries old. The. view from our room of the Duomo was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the services from employees was first class in all respects. The only negative was significant. The room had a very strong sewer odor that made it almost uninhabitable. The solution was to open the three large windows overlooking the Duomo and this made the odor dissipate to acceptable levels. Unfortunately the tourist and youthful population of Florence drinks and partties until 2-3am in the morning and the Duomo is a popular place. The loud noise made sleeping very difficult. We chose noise over sewer smell but this is not a choice that a client paying over $700 per night should have to make. We also had some water leakage problems in the bathroom. I think much of the issue may stem from rain and old infrastructure of the city but they should have made us aware of this reality before accepting our reservation. The room was # 9 called the Empire Suite. Resolving this problem the Palazzo Niccolini would deserve the highest rating.

This hotel had the most wonderful staff—so kind, attentive, and always ready to help. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and very clean. Unfortunately, our AC wasn’t working, and on the second day we experienced very low water pressure, which was a bit inconvenient. The breakfast was quite good, and I always felt safe during my stay. The location was absolutely perfect—right next to the Duomo, which was such a treat!
