Well done Expedia!

This was a fantastic "dream holiday". The hotel and location were superb, and the car hire and flights all worked out well. Finding a place to stay on Sanibel has been an ambition since we first visited the island as day trippers many years ago. However finding somewhere to stay from here in the UK is not easy as this is not a resort covered by "normal" UK travel agents and tour operators. Expedia gave us the shop window through which to research the options, and with a little help from Google satellite images we were able to visually check out the Sanibel Moorings property and location. We hadn't used Expedia before and were a little uncertain as to how this would all work out, but we now know everything was properly organised and the plan worked. So thanks Expedia! Greg ps instead of a boring room photo take a look at this sunset from the beach in front of the hotel.

Our condo was so close to the beach and pool! We loved our days in the sun! The botanical gardens around the resort are breathtaking!! The kitchen was fully stocked and we were able to eat there often! The Weber grills outside were open for us and we grilled a few nights also! Everyone was so kind that worked there! The condo we stayed in could use some updating but the proximity to the pool and beach made up for it!

We were thrilled with our stay at Sanibel Moorings. The apartment was impeccably clean, spacious, and stocked with everything we could possibly need, especially in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The only issue was the quality of the Wi-Fi connection; it was spotty at times.

On the beach! Great for COVID

The stay was really nice and the front desk was very communicative! I had text communication since this was during COVID and the phone was always answered promptly. The beach access is so convenient and the lanai was a pleasant surprise. The kitchens are well stocked. We stayed for 4 days and loved it! We were originally worried that the beach wouldn’t be as nice as other beaches on Sanibel but it was actually nicer than Bowman’s beach or Captiva beach, in our opinion.

The property itself is great, lush landscaping and proximity to ocean and pools is very good. However, beach chairs and lounges are available so long as you can lug them yourself to and from the beach. No umbrellas available which was an issue as it was very hot and sunny. Also, no beach towels were available and we were told that we couldn’t use any of the bathroom towels for lounging at pool or beach. Also, the front desk can use a lesson on customer service as their responses and many rules reminded us of summer camp and not an adult vacation.

Bra läge nära havet. Positivt med fina omgivningar på området med vackra blommor och träd, grillplats, fullt utrustat kök, bra planlösning, trevlig personal mm. Det som sänker betyget något är att lägenheten och balkongen är mörk pga växtlighet framför fönstren (2:à vån).

Vi hade 5 fina dagar på Sanibel. Vi hade en lägenhet på nedre botten med utsikt mot trädgården. Man har dock ingen utsikt alls. Det växer massor av blommor, träd, buskar så man ser inget. Det medför också att det blir väldigt mörkt inne då fönster och uteplatsen täcks av träd. Det finns allt i köksutrustning, det är inga problem att laga mat. En fin grillplats med gasolgrillar finns inom området. Lägenheterna är något slitna men rymliga ( för 4 personer) Behöver man poolhanddukar får man betala en engångskostnad för det. Havet ligger precis utanför och där såg vi delfiner simma. En fantastiskt upplevelse.
