This hotel looks like one of the places that Gordon Ramsay needs to save. In a desperate need for refurbishment and managed poorly. Don’t bother to book a breakfast for your whole stay, as you won’t like it.
Once the 80 clientele of the place passes away they will go bust and be out of business.

Disappointment
I don't think the standard of the hotel warrants 3 Stars. Breakfast was good, only one choice of a three course evening meal, no sandwiches or choice of any other meal. Bar was only looked after by reception, if you wanted a drink you had to walk to reception every time. Only enough tea and coffee for one cup of each. You could buy your own tea and coffee or buy extra from the hotel. The shower was abysmal, bath extra short. Only very cheap toilet paper very small round soap for two of us.In the main staff were helpful and friendly, just not enough of them. Took several days for the swimming pool to be usable (low PH). The pool building not finished holes where grilles should be. Car park was part of a pay and display, had to put a ticket with your room number and name in windscreen and very low level of lighting. For two females this and hardly any staff during night made us feel uneasy.

Good location.
The location Of the hotel was beautiful and picturesque, right on the bay. The hotel was ok, however it was worn and seemed like it had seen better days. The spa was cold - however working. The pool was nice - beautiful room. Signs showed there might have been a sauna once. The restaurant could not do a la carte, it was three courses or the highway. For the money paid, it was overall disappointing.

What a fabulous location unfortunately the hotel did not match! Very tired in need of revamp. Could be stunning. Food at dinner was unappetising. Breakfast good. £120.00 was steep considering.

Excellent location
The hotel is perfectly placed by the sea and countryside.
The ambience could be described as “dated but charming” and did not detract from the overall enjoyment of our visit to the island.
Well appointed hotel close to the mainly shingle beach. Good swimming since it was safe and the beach shelves quickly. Relatively quiet bay. Rather limited bus service. Food good with a varied menu. There are only two shops in the bay one to support lifeboat service and a just reopened café. Staff courteous, helpful and friendly. There are adequate shops in Freshwater itself its a 25-30 minute walk up from the bay. The bus runs approximately every 2 hours and last bus is rather early in the late afternoon/early evening! However we're going again in October!
Location and views strong point but should have buffet breakfast, taxi service and help people up to their room with the luggages and we were not allowed to use left and it’s like a maze there. Bigger glasses for orange juice. But the room was more Tran I bargained for! Need a fridge tho!
The hotel is so well located with amazing views over the ocean. However the hotel is very tired and needs a complete update. Staff were very nice but some quite honestly had difficulty understanding english.
I liked the ambience at The Albion. It has a traditional elegance and is very comfortable with spacious rooms including the bathroom. I had lovely sea views and slept well in the day due to the quietness (night worker). Personally I liked the ruggedness and remoteness of the locality but there isn't a lot around. Easy to travel around and use as a base. The roads are quiet by mainland standards. The food was very well cooked but the restaurant service could be faster. All the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. I wish the shower worked at more than a dribble and the Wi-Fi didn't connect throughout my entire stay these are my only negatives.
Was very pleased with the Albion Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely location on the edge of Freshwater bay and great views from our room. Room spacious and comfortable and copious amounts of hot water. Food cooked fresh and good choice considering the season. Very good value off season.

Amazing location, nice hotel with little remarks
The hotel's location is amazing, just at the coast, from our hotel it looked like we would be able to jump into the water. The little bay is really pretty and the sunset is amazing.
The hotel room - we had a junior suite - was really nice, quite roomy, we had 2 balconies and we really felt comfortable. I would give 4 stars for it.
The pool and the whirlpool were very disappointing though. The whirlpool was cold so you could not use it. In addition apart from the view that was the reason why we chose this hotel, so we were especially disappointed about it not being usable. I would give 1 star for that. --> together it was 3 as the hotel room was more important than the pool.
It was our first stay at this hotel and I am pleased to say it was excellent.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay again

Excellent position on Freshwater Bay
Make sure you get a room with a view of the sea not of the road. Although we booked weeks in advance we were given a room where you couldn't see the sea unless you looked out of the window.
No warm pipes in the bathroom so the towels stayed damp though we asked for dry ones the next day we didn't get them.
Good breakfast but very disappointing overall.
Stunning location and comfortable hotel with pool.
Upgraded on arrival to a junior suite which was very spacious with two French windows opening onto balconies with stunning sea views. Robes were also provided and tea/coffee/biscuits. There were a variety of choices to choose from at breakfast and for the 3 course evening meals all of which were delicious.

Sea front location and indoor swimming pool
Good location but because of proximity to sea a musty damp smell in many area of hotel.
No greeting on arrival, officious signs and focussed upon money, getting stuff done they wanted, not interested in questions or answering them, so attitude of some staff unhelpful. Probably understaffed at reception to be fair - and a 'You're done' when settling up - no asking if/how we enjoyed our stay 'thank you, come again' or any polite word at all (a different member of staff too).
Signs are very much in the vein of covering their backs and we don't take any responsibility, rather than a co-operative suggestion. Eg - 'towels will not be replaced, if you leave them on the floor they will stay wet' etc. Other places manage to communicate without it sounding like a correctional facility!
Breakfast not great - orange juice is considered an alternative to tea/coffee, not as well. No buffet style to help yourself to cereal etc at first, so staff have to bring everything and are consequently too busy and you end up waiting ages for things...Others at the table next to ours were not at all happy either and left their breakfasts for whatever reason.
Odd layout means byzantine corridors and no explanation as to how to get where you need to go....
It was very hot they had no fan, no air condition, no fridge.
Pool was close for maintenance on a bank holiday weekend.
When i ask management for a fan they said they can't provide us with a fan on the hottest bank holiday weekend.

A Good Hotel which Could Be Made A Great One
We liked: Location. Stunning views. Wonderful walks. Pleasant beach, with safe swimming. Hotel pool. Comfy bed. Excellent fully tiled bathroom. Spacious junior suite.
We were disappointed with: No working wi-fi. Restaurant closed so early it was not used, yet the licenced Piano Cafe nearby was thriving at 9:00pm. Bar appeared unwelcoming when compared to other places nearby. Limited local information available. No fridge or A/C or fan in a junior suite. Expensive breakfast. 10:30 am checkout although the booking confirmation says 11:00 am. we would have thought the Premier Inn checkout time of 12 Noon would be a good industry yardstick. No remote control for TVs. 1 of 2 windows was jammed shut. 1 of 2 balcony doors would not open. No table on balcony. 1 tea bag and 1 coffee satchet per person per day; petty. When we asked the hotel to call a taxi we got told to do it ourselves.
We would go back because of where it is, and the views but with TLC this could be so much more, without breaking the hotel's budget. Indeed, it could bring more revenue in.
