“Conveniently located in McLaren Vale, so easy access to the wineries. Outdoor pool is closed during the winter. Staff were very friendly.”

“Overnight stay was excellent - we used as a jump off point to Monarto Zoo which is 30 minutes drive. Strathalbyn is a beautiful town. Victoria Hotel is perfectly placed. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. We had our son and booked a room for 3. Often places don't prepare the spare bed but these guys were organised and did prepare the extra bed which was greatly appreciated. Staff were friendly at check in and out.”

“the Hotel is more like a motel with separate buildings behind the reception. However, design is modern, almost like a small resort, and great access to parking and to the main street of Hahndorf. The rooms are a good size and the bed is super comfy. One thing I am particular about is a good sized towel and their towels were bug and fluffy.. The rooms have a fridge, sink and tea/coffee which you dont really need given the great coffee in the area. Would totally stay here again”

“Loved the homely touches with the beautiful crockery and furniture around the house. Close to the town centre. Mattress was a little firm for our liking and extra milk for the continental breakfast would have been nice. Otherwise a lovely place to stay! ”

“We loved our stay at Mt Lofty House. Highly recommend the daily history tour at 4.30pm. All staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. Our room was divine. A tip, the cookies are the best. There’s a jar left out and topped up daily but it’s a bit of a secret. We dined at Martha’s and after a really busy day, loved the easy going nature of this restaurant. We also had the 7 course degustation menu at Hardys Veranda another night. We didn’t enjoy this as much as Martha’s purely as...

“Absolutely beautiful! The cabin is stunning. So much room inside, gorgeous views. Outside is scenically stunning. So peaceful and quiet. Will most definitely be staying again. The walk up to the cabin is beautiful, inside and outside just stunning!”

“ Overall, the property was excellent but was let down by the lack of TV reception. Given that our visit was for the Gather Round Football, our plan was to watch many of the games on TV. However, that was not possible because of there being no satellite connection because of the cloud cover. It was a major disappointment and as a result we had very little leisure time at the property. The property is advertised as family accommodation, so the TV coverage issues need to be rectified.”

“Off grid cabin / eco tiny home in a scenic area in the hills above Hahndorf. The property had 8 cabins which were really well spaced out giving a feeling of privacy and the area had many birds and kangaroos. Well laid out cabin with thoughtful additions from the host such as kindle/firefighter and matches for the koonara. A lovely stay, highly recommend.”
