"Had a lovely night at this hotel and conference centre. The bars and restaurants inside are lovely. The rooms were clean and basic but ok. I marked it down a star as the mattress was poor and made my back hurt."

"Receptionist last night was incompetent and appalling. At 10pm at night, 5 minutes after I had arrived in my room and was settling in, he knocked on my door and suggested that I should move to another room “because of an issue” with the room I was in. I reluctantly agreed, and he moved me to another room a few doors down. “It even has a bath” he said excitedly. When I expressed reservations and said that I really preferred a shower, like I had in the previous room, he stated that I would have to return to reception with him so he could look to see else what he could find (not such a short distance, and with my overnight bag). Back at reception, he suggested that he could put me in a ground floor “if I would mind that”. He sounded negative about the room, so I asked if it would be noisy. He said that it wouldn’t, but I might want to take a look. I asked, why - would it be any different to the original room? At this point, he confessed the room wasn’t as nice - and then suggested that I should return to my original room, but he would put a message on the system for his colleague. I have no idea what all this was about, but it was all extremely weird and reminded me of something out of Fawlty Towers. Suffice to say, I didn’t feel particularly safe in the room and had a terrible night’s sleep (it was also too hot). I will not be returning."

"Breakfast was nice, staff was very friendly. I booked this hotel for parking but had to park on the road. Also the room was very dated but it was clean and tidy so all in all it was ok."
