"Very quaint hotel, not for someone who wants every modern convenience but a find for those of us looking for a homey feel and ambiance. Raised floor in the bathroom, water pressure took a while to get going, and the parking was a challenge for me but a good night's sleep in an historic venue in downtown White River Junction. The folks at the front desk were very helpful and personable."
"The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The amenities were much appreciated.
However, although there was a sign that said they were remodeling and apologize for the inconvenience and noise, I did not expect hammering directly above my room at 8:30 AM. The staff at the front desk said they’d ask them to stop but they did not which made it impossible to do anything but check out. This was a room that cost $385 for one night in Lebanon New Hampshire, off the highway."
"My family of 3 stay here about every six weeks. We have been staying at the 506 for about 8 years now. While we love the location, the staff at breakfast, and the pool/hot tub, the shared spaces during this visit seemed worn, not the cleanest and the number of staff was sparse. They have increased their prices since the new owners took over about a year ago and although they’ve updated the rooms with paint, new linens, decor, it seems the family vibes and familiarity are non-existent. "
"when we arrived at our room after dinner the A/C didn't seem to be working and the TV was not getting any signal. we called the front desk. They sent a gentleman to assess the situation. he said he would come back to fix the problem. He came back with a portable fan! We said no way - and forget about it. We finally got it working. He also said he was the new "houseman" and had no ide how to fix the TV. We said send in the engineer. He left and came back shortly and said there was no engineer on site and it would take at least 30 minutes to get him there. We said forget bit but have the manager call us. The front desk called (apparently there was no manager available?) and reiterated it would take time. But offered no solution or apology. We specifically asked that the manage call us in the morning - the desk person said they would leave a note. No call. at checkout the desk person never asked "how was your stay". I offered the story. He asked do you want to speak to the manager. I said sure. Hre came out, listened to the saga and responded; "no houseman on duty, huh? I'll look into it." This was not a 4 or 5 star experience certainly for what we were charged. Most disturbing was the seemingly indifferent response to addressing the problem coupled with no apologies. Some times it's the little things that make all the difference. For what it's worth."
