โThis is a beautiful property both outside and in. The proprietors were friendly and respectful. The pool and patio with the surrounding gardens are very peaceful and relaxing. The house is well insulated for noise. We didnโt know there were 6 other people staying there until we met them in the dinning room for a delicious breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and, have already told our family and friends to stay there when traveling in the area. โ
โDuring my stay, the overall environment was quiet and peaceful, which I appreciated. This was actually my second time staying at this location, and coincidentally, I was placed in the same room on both visits. I did notice a consistent, subtle odor in the roomโit had the scent of an older space with limited air circulation, carrying a slightly damp or musty smell, with a faint hint of cigarette smoke. While not overpowering, it was noticeable.
That said, the room itself was clean and well-kept....
โCarlisle House is beautiful and preserving of the past. Quaint, quiet, and polished. Checking in and out was a breeze. The staff were very helpful and polite. I would stay again! โ
โWe always stay at Home 2 when visiting Mechanicsburg,PA. The rooms are so spacious and clean. The hotel is in a great location . It's right off the main road with lots of stores and restaurants . โ

โWe absolutely loved our stay at the Thornwald Mansion. It is nicely secluded in a park yet you are within walking distance to Dickinson College and a shopping center. The property has outstanding amenities and the food selections at breakfast were delicious. The service exceeded our expectations. The room and the bed were comfortable and very quiet.
This mansion went under fire and then was rebuilt by the current owner from the ground up paying attention to detail and preserving its history.
