โA really nice, friendly pub in the village of Hawkshead. The room was good with an excellent bed and the food was amazing. Weโd definitely be up for returning. โ
โGorgeous Hotel centrally located in the village of Hawkshead, room had all the facilities, key pad entry so no keys to carry
Bottles of water by the bedside and even my favourite Costa Coffee pods for the coffee maker
Beautiful restaurant/cafe downstairs. Breakfast was included in my stay and was one of the best Iโve had
Staff were very helpful and very nice
Really canโt fault it and would definitely stay again โ
โThe hotel itself feels a little tired, but the rooms have been fully refurbished and the beds are very comfortable. Our window only opened slightly, though a good floor fan was provided. Parking on-site is a big plus, and itโs an easy walk into town. Ambleside is absolutely gorgeous and well worth a visit.โ
โWe loved the history of the property. Our booking was very last minute since we were let down by another hotel. The Lakeside Hotel and Spa is very clean, you can feel the warmth when you walk into the property. Overall it was a good experience. The one thing i did noticed is you have to book your table for dinner every night otherwise you end up without a sit-in dinning. And we ended up skipping dessert a few times because as soon as the restaurants got busy it would take nearly 40minutes to get...
โWe loved the way the property- an old tannery- had been converted into a hotel with a lot of unique properties. Unfortunately, it had some challenges for disabled people: going up and down stairs, for example. They had a little chair lift in two places, but the wheelchair had to be carried manually up and down stairs. There was great difficulty for going from our ground floor room to breakfast on 2nd floor. They offered to accommodate by bringing breakfast down to us in the bar area of ground...
โWe got to this property by chance. What a fun surprise. It is an old but very well kept inn. It has many beautiful hikes around. It is in the middle of nowhere. And that makes it even more fantastic. โ
โVery Scottish decorโ for some reason.
Staff were over worked and doing multiple jobs as best as they could and as quickly as they good. Tending bar, taking orders, waiting on tables - just one person! They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. I could see how frustrated the staff and the customers were getting with the whole situation. The room was clean and tidy with good tea and...
