“Nice rooms. Bathroom too small for me unfortunately. Pub looks a bit tired and could do with a makeover. Steps to rooms are metal fire escape outside at the back but treads not deep enough so be careful walking down them. Good atmosphere.”

“I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. ”

“Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu. “Fantastic stay from start to finish. Great central location and super friendly staff. The room was beautifully decorated, fantastic breakfast to set you up for the day, restaurant food was amazing and the bar/beer garden were great. Despite it being a pub, it was great to be able to still come and go no matter the time which lent itself well to me as an early bird as it meant I could go for an early morning walk. Overall a great stay and I'll definitely be back. ”
