The meals were fabulous - beautifully prepared and delicious. This is a well maintained older traditional Japanese styled hotel with an excellent view of Lake Biwa and walking distance to Hikone Castle.
Fantastic stay in this onsen style ryokan. Had a wonderful private onsen in our room, overlooking the river and the lake beyond. Can’t ask for a more perfect experience. Waking up early to soak in our private room onsen before dressing and heading down for the Japanese style breakfast included.
My main memory will be about the dinner and breakfast. Both were phenomenal. A real experience.
The only downsides were that the room felt a bit tired and the bathroom smelled of stagnant water and had some little bugs in the shower.
The staff was super helpful and responsive.
Great hotel right at Lake Biwa. The included dinner and breakfast were amazing even for Japan standards (but the restaurant staff doesnt speak any English so have google translate ready... they were still friendly and did their best to understand). Its also quite far away from the station so be sure to use the free shuttle. We had the traditional room with tatami and futons which was neat, spacious and had a great view of the lake.
