"The challenge with the property is there are a set of bylaws that renters agree to regarding things like observing quiet hours and no smoking in common areas. We drew the short straw for the bulk of our stay. We had a first floor unit with a group of 4 younger adults directly above us. One of the young women was having some sort of existential crisis that lead the group to sit on their patio and drink and smoke pot from 11:30 pm till after sunup. They were still at when checked out early at 7:30am. Their voices carried half way down the road to the beach. Over the course of 48 hours, we got to hear about how their parents raised them; different sizes/types of blunts; what a terrible person one was by their one admonition; professed devotion (unrequited btw) of going to the end of the earth for a friend; trying same sex relationships; and on and on it went. Then the table on the balcony got knocked over with sound of breaking glass with beer and other liquids pouring of the edge of their balcony. Did we get much sleep? No. If you do stay there make absolutely sure you’re on the top floor. Otherwise it’ll sound like a moving company is overhead."

"Proximity to the park and the town of Volcano was great. Easy parking. Quiet. There is no human on-site but they thought of everything you might need. On the downside, there was no AC so it was hot one night, the decor feels very much like a hodge-lodge of items, and Bathroom lighting was really low and dingy. On the upside, big room that could have easily slept 4 if we needed it to."

"The Lodge itself was impeccably clean. The dining experience was great. Our room was perfect right down to the heated towel bar. The volcano area lookouts were nearby thus not having to travel very far. The staff were very helpful in all aspects. Would definitely recommend this Lodge."

"We needed a place near volcano park and this property filled the bill. I really should have read the information provided by the host to understand the self-check in process. (Multiple messages from all our stays overwhelmed me) Once we squared that away, we found dinner and brought it back to the room and settled in. The night sounds in the forest were great. My only suggestion is the steps be lit up for arrivals after dark."

"Jeff was a kind host, The land was absolutely Beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, nice rooms though Eye stayed in the tent which Eye enjoyed. It gets pretty hot and there during the day and very cool at night. Less than a minute drive from my favorite clothing optional beach. Eye really enjoyed my stay. The hot tub was nice, the bath tub was lovely and the outside showers. The only issue Eye saw was that the inside shower curtain had quite a bit of mold on it but besides that everything was great. One of my favorite stays ever. They also had the sweetest cat ili’ili. The photos of the place do not do it justice."

"Sue the property owner was so nice very helpful. She offered to make pancakes and sausage for breakfast which is our favorite. Not sure what else is on the menu, but we saw her cooking up some other items as well. It came with fresh local fruits and great coffee. We stayed in the Pele room which came with a separate kitchenette. I didn’t see a cooktop, but it had a nice size fridge, microwave, and small table and two chairs. We didn’t do any cooking but enjoyed the fridge, privacy, and the great coffee and coffee maker. The room was very nice and clean - very nicely decorated. 2 bathrooms and separate beds was a plus. Showers were not large but worked great for us (I am bit large and fit just fine). The room also has access to a decent sized covered deck. The deck is used by the two dogs; Coconut and Bear. We didn’t see them much but they were awesome and we were glad when we did. Grounds are great and location is very close to Volcano National Park. "

"Absolutely adorable! They had fruit oatmeal, coffee, and tea and bread with butter waiting for you so you had a great breakfast. We absolutely love the papaya and banana combo that was suggested. Bed set up was great as you felt privacy, but could hear the birds. And owners were very attentive. Would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back."

"Parking was easy, but my room was a bit dirty upon arrival with spider webs and literal dust on things. There was a dehumidifier but it was empty and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. They were supposed to come pick up my registration so I thought they'd fix the humidifier then (80% humidity in the room) but no one ever came. The free amenities they have in the guest supply is just one very bad shampoo and a little bar soap (which was okay). The kitchen is very minimal and has nothing to label your items with. I never came across another guest in the property, but I know they were there because doors would open/closer. Very great location, but there are many many options in this town where you may get better amenities with an actual host that would prepare and care for your room"
