"room was clean and nicely decorated. The room was a little tight for 2 people with 4 suitcases. Bathroom was pretty tight for 2 people. Location of the hotel was good--we were 10 minute walk from the historic city center. There was also a Tesco next door so that was a nice perk. The staff on check in was not helpful. The parking situation in York is a nightmare. There is NO PARKING for the hotell--no parking near the hotel either. You have to park in a garage and haul all of your luggage to the hotel or circle until the small area they have for you to pull in and unload your bags is free. We had 4 suitcases and a couple of small bags as we were visiting for 2 weeks so this was extremely stressful. The system for the car park was confusing and the staff at the desk at our check in were almost hostile about helping us with it. "

"really enjoyed our stay ,when checking in at reception staff were really helpful and very polite and friendly the cookie we received was a very nice touch .Room was very clean plenty of space to put our belongings. Bed was so comfortable. On our return back to hotel we went to the sky lounge, again staff very polite and friendly. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family."

"The hotel is gorgeous and the staff were top notch. We had a bite to eat in the Garden Room and James was running himself ragged trying to serve everyone and accommodate everyone’s needs. Another waitress was also so friendly and helpful. We felt safe and well cared for during our entire stay."

"Our first visit to York, and we couldn’t have chosen a better one. Beautifully located near all things we wished to see. All the staff are fabulous, can’t do enough for you, but a special shout out for Phoebe on reception who really did go the extra mile for us. . It’s a clean and well presented room, fab bathroom with all necessities provided. The breakfast is extremely good with a great variety of choices and great value for money. The bar prices are certainly not unreasonable in this day and age. Would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. If we are ever back in York this is where we will stay. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in."

"Great property. Very conveniently located 5 minutes walk away from the train station and 10 minutes walk from major destinations. Live music at the bar was a great surprise. All amenities you'd expect from an older establishment, everything in well working conditions, some upgrades may be necessary but mainly esthetics and not function. The staff are extremely polite and accommodating. I'd definately stay here again if ever back in York."
