“We loved staying in this 13th century inn. We were given a room in the original section of the inn - amazing wattle and daub walls, original timber work and wonky floors! The River Avon flows past the front of the Rose and Crown property. A beautiful settling and a privilege to be able to stay here! If you love history, this is the place to stay in Salisbury.”

“Stayed here for 2 nights and will definitely stay again! The rooms were nice and cosy, great food options, quiet location, friendly staff and only a few minutes drive from car parks to walk in the New forest. Highly recommend”

“Lovely setting, vegetarian breakfast was very good, comfortable stay, nice walk across Harnham Water Meadows to Salisbury.”

“Hilary and Mark, mother and son were both very pleasant and helpful. Some good suggestions about different places to visit in the area.”

“Comfortable room in a lovely pub. Helpful, friendly staff. Great atmosphere in the pub and delicious food.”

“Great breakfast. Everything was great!”

“I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.”
