Whew! Lots of things to think about here. First - it was hurricane Dorian. Every room was full of evacuees. The clutter - GUILTY - but the grandkids come daily and they used the toys and tables for play and coloring. Even the guest's child helped with the "play". The kitchen... I DO have a black sink that shows every water spot. On hurricane days we also inherit the food, snacks, etc. that evacuees bring from their homes to keep from spoiling or to eat while here.Most of the time evacuees don't want to eat out every meal. So I allow them full use of the kitchen. As to check in early - Normal check in times are 3 PM. Prior guest had not been gone long (could have stayed as late as noon). I was still cleaning the room. This guest wanted to come in at 11 but I didn't have it ready until 12:03. Her delay was 1 hour. She said "OK. Thanks". (text message) As for the snoring - we discussed a remedy of her running her TV on a music channel. She had headphones - but her battery died. What else was I to do? Make the snoring guest (an evacuee also) leave? I would love some suggestions here! When the guest left, I had no knowledge of when she planned to leave. She had not left her room all morning or communicated with me prior to her departure. I had jumped in the shower and told my grand daughter where I was so she could tell the guests goodbye if they happened to leave before I got out. I am sorry I missed their departure. I think I missed it by one minute!! I was disappointed that the room had food crumbs on the bedding. But it is difficult in a house full of people under such circumstances. Hurricane "days" are always a challenge for both evacuees and hosts. I am happy that all my evacuees were able to go home to no damages!! My other guests seemed to not have any issues and seemed to sleep thru the snoring!

Thanks Kathryn. We sure enjoyed you two. It is always so good to see friends get together!! I love that our place is ideal for that. I am ready for spring - well almost. We should have baby goats in about a month. That will be fun. Come again when you can stay longer!!
