Sandra has left this review because she booked thinking we are located in Stratford (we are 15 minutes from Stratford in the lovely town of St. Marys) as she was attending a function there. She booked our non-refundable rate. We were completely booked solid, and had turned other parties away who sought accommodation with us. Unfortunately because of this, we advised her that we could not refund her money simply because she wanted to be in Stratford. She became upset, and this review is the result. And her rate was 140, not 240.

This guest arrived and before even checking in advised us that if her stay wasn't perfect, a negative review would be posted. Online reviews are great for our industry, but unfortunately a small few weaponize it for their own purposes. We use constructive, factual, feedback to constantly look to improve. This review is full of untrue information. For example, when Elizabeth said the pool was full of leaves and bugs, I immediately went to the pool to inspect. A father and daughter were enjoying a playful swim, and when they departed I took a photo of the pool. I attempted to post a link to it, or have Expedia post the photo, to refute the claim, but their policy does not allow that. Today I have posted the photo of the pool taken that day on our photo gallery. I will let the readers weigh the veracity of this particular review.

We at the Westover read every review, and when feedback is factual, and constructive to help us improve, we act on it. This guest, (and their travelling companion "Elizabeth" who left a similar review dated same) arrived at the Inn and immediately began saying they were going to leave negative reviews unless everything went perfect for them. That is when the receptionist, who is actually the owner and operator, said she felt threatened from the get go. She went out to the patio to diffuse the situation, and you followed her out there, asking very aggressively why she felt threatened. You also acknowledged having the number to call if you needed absolutely anything during your stay, and that you deliberately chose not to call the number. There are wifi cards in every room, providing details to the TWO open wifi networks we have at the Inn; two to ensure wifi is available across the property. You admitted later you didn't notice the wifi card. We are a family run operation, and the grounds cover 16 acres. We cannot be everywhere all at once. We were onsite. The review system for online booking systems is a great way to allow properties to continue to improve. Unfortunately, a very select few weaponize it, leave factually in accurate reviews, and this is an example of just that. ps the receptionist is my wife, and I was witness to the entire interaction.
