Breakfast was good. Updated property with good amenities. Pool was closed though, that was a disappointment, especially at the start of summer weather.

Stayed on a Saturday - loud maintenance being done in the evening - could be heard for a few hours that evening.

It smelled so good inside the hotel and felt very clean. I am glad I chose that hotel for 2 separate nights for our road trip on the way to and from our destination. Would recommend!

If it weren’t for the cleaning lady that banged on the door repeatedly at 9:30am , this location would be given 5 stars. If checkout is at 11am. NO STAFF should be knocking on guests doors before then. It’s rude and makes guests feel rushed

We’ve stayed at this La Quinta many times and have always enjoyed our stay. During this stay however, we did not recieve housekeeping service during a 4 night stay. Not sure why, we spoke to management and they kept assuring us we would receive service but never did.

Hello, thank you for staying with us at the La Quinta, Tyler University Area. I looked into the issue and have talked with the head of housekeeping about your 3-night stay. We are sorry if you did not receive the level of housekeeping that you should have. Our records indicate the room received a light tough refresh on the 31st as is normal. There was a do not disturb sign indicated on the next day. We want all of our guest to feel like they are receiving a high level of service, and we will work to better provide that in the future.

This is my 3rd stay at this location. I have issues with the hotel charging a $150 deposit for third party reservations that is more than the cost of the room. At each visit, I had to show the staff the room issues so I would not be liable for losing my deposit. The Feb. 9th visit, my refund of my deposit was over 5 days. The Feb 16th visit, my husband paid for the deposit of $150 he was charged again on Feb. 17 so that is $300 on his credit card. Only one charge was reversed leaving a balance of $150.I will need a call or email immediately to resolve this matter. Thank you for your prompt attention to this request.

Hello, thank you for staying with us at the La Quinta, Tyler University Area. The incidental charge is required for all third-party prepaid reservations because the third parties will not cover anything past the cost of the room. The normal refund is 3-5 business days. This is the banks processing time, not ours. I have checked the reservation, and the credit card log only shows one deposit charge for this stay. Please contact us so we can help research the second charge.

Our shower door didn't close so water got everywhere Everytime you take a shower. It was really noisy the first night, kids were screaming and crying I couldn't go to sleep. But it's usually a good stay

The thermostat was set at 77° when we arrived and no Matt what we set it to, the temperature never changed. At 4:30 am someone's dog was outside yelping and people talking for abouta an hour! We had a very hot and uncomfortable night. Everything else about the hotel was fine.

Cold night but warm stay
We came because of the weather. My husband was scheduled for surgery at Christus Mother Francis. Since your hotel is the closest and the reviews were good I booked a night with you so I wouldn't have far to drive if the roads were bad. We were pleasantly surprised at a comfortable stay. Thank you.

The hotel phone in the lobby and my room were broken, so while the staff was friendly, I had trouble getting in touch to have my room key reprogrammed when it didnt work the second night. It was fairly quiet and clean. Very fast wifi.

Everything was good. My only issue was the unavailability of a handicap room even though I requested 1 when I made the reservation. The hotel did attempt to rectify this hiccup by giving us a suite. We were here for back surgery and the patient had difficulty attempting to shower in this room. It would help if ALL rooms had a handicap bar on the side of the entry side of ALL showers in addition to the bar on the opposite end of the shower. Thank you for your hospitality

The most terrible experience ive had at a hotel. Checked into room and it was not the room I booked. The tv did not work so they put me into another room knowing the tv in that room did not work. Joel the clerk said there was nothing they could do. I told them I was going to check into another hotel in the area. Joel never offered to help me find another hotel in the Tyler area and refused to give me his full name incase I had trouble with my room refund. He said I wanted his last name so I could harrass him. Complete unprofessional. I will never stay at another La Quinta again.

Great Stay
We have stayed her numerous of times, its preferred because it is close to our family's home. Although this (1/1/24) coming in at passed midnight, our cards did not work at back entrance. We went around to the front went up to 3rd floor and our cards did not work at our room. We had to go back down stairs to the front desk and for some reason the person that orginally checked us in did not activate the key card for 2 nights. That was a huge inconvenience for us. Other than that, that was our only issue. We will continue to stay at this hotel, in the event that we go back to Tyler.

Hello, we take every claim of bed bugs very seriously. This was not reported to the front desk during the stay. The room has been cleaned multiple times since your stay and I had the housekeeper go in and do a complete inspection. We are happy to say there are no bedbugs. We use special mattress covers to keep the rooms safe. We would never discount that you saw something, but it looks like it wasn't bedbugs. If you ever are in a room where you think there could be an issue, please let the front desk know right away so they can get you in another room and inspect and take care of any issues. Thank you for staying with La Quinta. We will continue to work hard to improve and provide quality service for our guest.

No hot water for shower and fridge did not work. I had to take a cold shower in the evening and the next morning prior to my heart bypass surgery.

Perfect for our short stay
This hotel exceeded my expectations and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the beds were super comfortable as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a nice weekend in Tyler.
