The accommodation is basic and the grounds pictured represent a distant memory of what it once was before it was neglected during the pandemic. I hope the new owners can breathe new life (money and hard work) into a beautiful place that was once and could be amazing again.

Cabins are basic but clean anf functional. Great setting in the rainforest with marked walking tracks. Staff very freindly.

My family of 5 spent 1 night in one of the family rooms at the Lync-Haven Rainforest Retreat during a family holiday to far north Queensland. First the good: This lodge conveniently located near key Daintree attractions like the Daintree River, Jindalba Boardwalk, and Discovery Centre. The lodge also has an on-site restaurant, which we didn't use, but appeared to have reasonably-priced meals. The resort also had some (poorly maintained) rainforest trails throughout the property as well as a wallaby enclosure. The not-so-good: IMO, the biggest issue with the accommodation was the price, given the budget quality of the room. The 'cabin' was a small studio room with budget quality furnishings and a cramped toilet/shower area. The rooms had no kitchen equipment so you couldn't prepare meals. There was no WiFi on the premises for customers, nor was there any cell signal. However, the staff had access to WiFi which they were unwilling to share even in the reception or restaurant area. I expect more for AUD 210 per night.

Very Wet Two Days in the Rain Forest
We Booked a 2 night Stay in the Rainforest . The rain Came with us and was there for 2 days Rain and More Rain . Due to the fact the motel units were in the rainforest the Air condition Had to be going all the time as the room would full up with water ! so this made the room very cold . The Meals were on for only 1 night out of the 2 and were very good . The Place has been let to run down a bit but we were ok .

The restaurant/cafe was a real hub. As a solo traveler I was quickly made to feel welcome by the hosts and other guests. They really care deeply for the animals that reside there too. This was a feature!

Highly recommended place to stay!
Highly recommended place to stay with a fun and interesting animal adventure. The hotel was large with its own walking track to explore. The owner was friendly and attentive with the accommodation.

Awesome eco resort, great little cabin!
Fantastic family friendly hotel with proprietors who truly care about animals. Food is reasonably priced and yummy. Lots of parking. Great hiking trails on property - although right out our back door was a wallaby enclosure with rescued wallabies they were rehabilitating before release. Cabin was clean and roomy with a fridge. No wifi. No cell phone service. This place is off the grid. Enjoy!

Family trip
The room was and clean and comfortable. Only thing missing was some cutlery and crockery. The location was very pretty. Surroundings quiet and peaceful. Just the wildlife to listen. Food from the restaurant was excellent quality

The staff were excellent. On arrival, the staff member organized for our tour pickup to be from the accommodation rather than a location some 15 minutes drive away. The food at Lync-Haven was delicious especially the chips!!

When we arrived at checkin, they couldn’t find a ur reservation. We were give keys and went to our room. As soon as I stepped in, I could barely breath because of the musty dampness. The room did not looked decorated like those in the pictures : it havd different decorating and different bed configuration. It was very dirty. There were hundreds of bugs on the floor, many pieces of hair in the floor, and what looked like conditioner on the shower wall. I went right back to checkin and asked for a refund. They refused. She said I had to contact Expedia, but there was no WiFi and no phone signal in the area. She was rather abrupt and mean. She did not apologize or offer to clean the room. She did give me another room- grudgingly. This room was still musty, had many bugs and I could see large cracks around the ac unit where bugs could get in. We stayed somewhere else and lost our money. It was a very bad experience. Plus we felt it was cruel the way they keep their animals caged.

We arrived a couple of days after a tropical storm with some fairly heavy rain and flooding, but the room was nevertheless clean, tidy and spacious given the location. Negatives: As other reviewers have said, there isn't actually any wifi in the lobby. Also we did have ants in our room, which they were apologetic about and had a fair go at getting rid of them, and they probably fairly blamed it on the site having been partially flooded a few days before. Positives: There is a varied menu at the restaurant, and the dishes we had tasted good. We didn't get a chance to see the wallabies but they do have some pet parrots which add a bit of entertainment. We also saw some bats while we were eating our dinner on the veranda, so you can definitely tell you are in the rainforest!

Great area disappointing accommodation
The stay at Lync Haven was somewhat disappointing. Firstly, the facilities need to be amended. They DO NOT provide WiFi in reception. We were told this was an old system. I would not have booked if I’d known before going. Secondly, the room does not provide great value for money. The room was basic. Sadly it was not overly clean and there was a hefty service charge for cleaning. Thirdly, they offer a forest walk within their grounds, however, this proved inaccessible and poorly signed. The Rainforest National Park is a spectacular place to visit. Tourist attractions are good. Before you cross the river do stock up with some basics, like water, snacks, beer, wine, petrol etc as stocks are limited locally and expensive.

Rest and relaxation in the rainforest
Great location and grounds. Also loved the parrots and roos. The food at the restaurant was very yummy. Our cabin looked a little tired on the inside, and smelled damp. Perhaps due to the peak season, the staff seemed a little short at times and looked pretty tired.

Spent one one here after a full day in cape trib . Room was big enough for the family . Everything was tidy and clean apart from the fans which are caked in dust. Ate at the restaurant which had a good selection and all meals were great. Freindly staff and pleasant surrounding with the birds outside the store . Would have liked to stay longer:-)

Great hotel in the Rainforest
The hotel staff were very hospitable and welcoming upon my arrival late in the early evening at sunset. Ash, one of the staff who got me settled into my room, was very kind and friendly. The room was very basic but quite comfortable for a small, remote resort in the middle of the Daintree. Restaurant had a nice menu and good food. Only thing that could've improved the experience would've been wifi in the rooms/cabins.

Relaxing stay
Lync Haven is a delightful spot in the Daintree. Family run - lots of care taken and the grounds are great. The animals they care for give an added feature to your stay. Will definitely return.

Beautiful setting
All the staff were all lovely. Our accommodation was lovely clean and comfortable. A beautiful setting lush green rainforest and wallabies in our backyard just topped it off. Enjoyed delicious breakfast's and had dinner there on our last night and all the food was great. Enjoyed the crocodile and wallabie feeding just before we had to leave. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Daintree Forest. Would definitely be back.

Rainforest Motel
The beautiful photos of the Daintree Rainforest are an accurate depiction of the entire area. This hotel, however, is not an idyllic retreat of any sort. Imagine the quality of a motel along a busy interstate and that will give you an idea of the room quality. Sadly, the service doesn't even rise to chain motel standards. The rooms go for a premium price but the inn keepers can't be bothered with even the most basic guest care. Threadbare towels and a sliver of soap is provided. Upon check-in we we informed there is no WiFi and it was simply crossed off the list of amenities. We weren't informed that hot water is only available at limited times. We made a request to have two tea cups exchanged for new ones and were informed it was highly unusual to honor such a request. They don't service the rooms daily either. Honestly, for the price you'd find a nice boutique hotel or save a bundle and stay at nearly any of the other nearby motels with equally spectacular surroundings.

Great base for Daintree and GBR
Daintree is a remarkable area and the hotel/motel/campgrounds is a great base to explore it all. You're close to all the things you want to see; whether it's the jungle trails or reef excursions. In addition, the hotel has a great collection of wallabies, birds, a croc, as they rehab these critters. A great plus for any animal lover. Internet is iffy in this area and not accessible during my stay due to a technical problem. At first I was a bit miffed when I found out but then let my shoulders down and decided to focus on this amazing area. The hosts are great; friendly and helpful.

Tranquil stay in Daintree
Was great place to stay- quiet and rooms were spotless. Kids loved having all the wildlife in the reception area and the wallaby enclosure not far from our unit. Missed out on the wildlife feeding as doesn't happen on Monday mornings apparently. Only negative - no Wifi access at all for guests even though website says this is available in lounge area. Apparently not enough data. Food at the restaurant for dinner was great and good sized portions!

Great spot for nature lovers!
We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 kids, having visited on previous occasions as young travellers...we knew the kids would love it and they did! Great base to explore the region and lots of nature walks and animals onsite too. Accommodation was comfy and clean and the food at the cafe was great!

A comfortable stay within a world heritage icon
We have been to the Daintree many times but have always wanted to do an overnighter. These rooms are good comfortable rooms in the middle of a world heritage rainforest. You need to remember that it is the oldest rainforest on earth and that the entire ecosystem is living and breathing around you. You will see wildlife in its natural element - you will see insects also in their natural element. It is a rainforest, so expect rain or at least a high level humidity. All rooms come with fans an airconditioning. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Rooms included a good supply of towels, toiletries and pillows. We had dinner and breakfast on site at the adjoining café. We have had many lunches there on our day trips, the food and service are brilliant. Plenty of wildlife but naturally on the grounds and also within the complex. We were joined by kookaburra's in the morning that shared our breakfast, as well as a Bandicoot at dinner. At 10am there is a feeding tour option which only costs a gold coin donation, for the animals on ground including Doris the salt water croc, captive birds and reptiles, and the adjacent wallabies. There is also a rainforest walk and boardwalk which is a great way to see the flora and fauna up close - remember it is wild and watch out for "wait a while" vines. Very much a versatile property that is also very comfortable and extremely relaxing!

The Lync Haven is a nice place to stay if you want to view the ever elusive cassowary. Kristy and her team are very helpful with what ever you need. We had some early starts and she was more than happy to provide us breakfast supplies before we left in the morning. The cabins are basic but clean and the fan in the bedroom of our cabin was rather noisy so we had to resort to using the air cond which I preferred not to do given the location of the cabins. The other downside is it is on a main road where many trucks pass at the moment due to upgrade of the track north of Cape Tribulation. The campsites are further back from the road and provide a tropical haven for campers and the amenities looked very good. When travelling in the Cape Tribulation/Daintree area be warmned that if you are not self contained to prepare your own meals most restaurants and take away places take last orders by 7:30pm. This can be challenging if you head up to Cooktown for the day.

Close to tea plantation.
Everything was looking very tired. Both back door and front door of our accommodation where worn out with splits in the middle. It does need money spent on the resort as it is looking very worn out. Pillows where flat as pancakes. Everything was very clean. We where going to have breakfast and a coffee at the office/cafe but we had enough trouble just handing our keys back on checkout because two workers were out in the kitchen even though no one was waiting for meals. I know North Queensland is relaxing but these employees took it to the max!

Great place to stay
Stayed two nights in king size cabin which was clean and comfortable. Breakfast good and had the best fish for dinner on our whole holiday. Staff very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

Simply amazing
My fiancé and I had done a two week road trip from Brisbane to Cairns and we came across the Lync-Haven as a treat to end our fantastic holiday, and wow! We are both so glad that we did! The staff, food, animals, atmosphere and room cosines were all outstanding. I cannot recommend a stay at Lync-Haven enough. We can't wait to go back and take our two girls with us.
