Never stay again
I was made to check out because I refuse to pay for another day when my card had already been charged $272 for the room for 2 nights and $100 incidental fee the manager tried telling me I was only charged $186 which wasn’t true . I even had my bank statement

Was nice the lady that checked us in was super nice. Only thing that I was upset about was when I purchased the room I wanted a pool for the kids while on our stay, it was on it while I selected it, then my email had a line through the pool like it wasn’t here, got here and there was a pool and we didn’t pack swimming stuff

Property definitely needed to be updating. For the most part the rooms were clean. Old carpeting. Room is spacious as we had three people in the room. Two beds pull out sofa. Microwave & mini fridge! Friendly staff. Sketchy people hanging around property! Average price.

Everything was clean but fire alarm kept going off early in the evening due to dust getting in the system because they were working on the pool. One of the reasons we chose this hotel is because it had a pool and when we arrived we were told the pool has been out of service for over a year and there was almost little to no sense from management that this would be seen as something unfair or misleading to me when I booked it. The breakfast was good and they really kept up on keeping the food stocked and hot.

Never again
Rooms only had Double beds, which didn't fit our family. Pull out couch was lumpy and old as well. Didn't sleep well and that couldn't be changed. The bathroom and elevators looked and smelled moldy. Couldn't be changed due to the full capacity of the hotel. The pool was closed, no one knew why or when it would be open, such a disappointment. Breakfast was the same food every day, and was always a problem. Either coffee machines leaked, the pancakes machine broke, juice never worked, or there was hot food needing to be restocked all the time. It appeared they didn't have enough staff to keep breakfast stocked properly, which was a pain to ask every time you went to get something. I presume this is an older hotel based on the condition and the problems they are having at the moment. I sincerely hope that management does a major tear-out and up grade soon. We will not be coming back unless some major renovations are done to this building.

I am sorry to hear about your experience with us at the Holiday Inn Express East. While you did see our pool it is under renovation and my staff nor I have a timeline on when it will be in operation. The pool is not listed on any website currently until it is open. Yes we had some issues during breakfast. Two kids broke the juice machine during your stay and on busier days my breakfast attendants do serve the same food especially on the weekends so that we can accommodate the amount of guests. As you have stated this hotel is older and in need of renovation, we are slated to begin a renovation here in the future. I hope that once the renovations are complete you and your family will give us another try

Hotel was clean and well lit at night. Parking was a slight problem, but they have an agreement with the hotel next store. Staff was accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Not bad, except for the roaches (seriously)
The staff was friendly, and the room was comfortable, but there were roaches. Not just one or two, but a lot. When I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, the floor was crawling with small roaches. It was really disgusting. When I told the person at the desk in the morning, he said "sorry, we'll look into taking care of that," but didn't offer any other help or assistance. Not the standard of service or cleanliness that I would expect from a Holiday Inn property.

Spare yourself- don’t stay here!
Terrible experience entirely. Filthy room with mold and hair in the shower. The bedding had hair all over. Lights not working, outlets not working. This list goes on and on. Whatever you do, don’t stay here. We left early!

Overall, this was not the standard for Holiday Inn. Multiple ice machines broken or gone from floors, leaky shower, fire alarm went off for whole hotel due to burnt toast, later in morning there was a power surge to where all power went off in room. Staff was nice.

Nice stay here, not too far from downtown Indy. Definitely not on par with other Holiday Inn Express stays, but no real complaints. Fixtures in room seemed to have been broken and repaired in sketchy ways, but everything worked and was safe. Breakfast was good, though the pancake machine was "not working right now" the four days we were there. All in all, I'd stay here again.

Bed was comfortable and room was clean except the curtain by the bed was filthy. And when I say filthy, we are pretty sure it was either human feces or vomit splatters.

We booked this specifically for the pool only to find out it has been closed for almost a year. My 7yo daughter was not happy. We paid extra to stay at this hotel for the pool.

They made every effort to get us into room when we arrived. I wasn’t happy with room because their definition of suite and mine were miles apart. Terri Anna went out of her way to get us a room with a sofa. We wanted to watch March Madness and those channels would not broadcast on our tv.

Hot showers would be nice
Slept very well, room was clean and neat. Breakfast was very good. My morning shower was warm to Luke warm, the water never was hot at any point. I had paid for part of this room using a hotel.com gift card ($79). And my credit card for the balance $60+-. When I got home my credit card was charged $124. Not sure how this happened, I threw the gift card away since it was used up. Sure would like to know what became of my gift card balance.
