Punta Caracol Acqua Lodge

"Nuestra experiencia en Punta Caracol fue muy bonita. Es un lugar encantador, rodeado de naturaleza, con una ubicación privilegiada y paisajes espectaculares. Nos encantó especialmente poder hacer snorkeling y disfrutar del mar. Es un lugar maravilloso para visitar en familia, ya que los niños disfrutan muchísimo de esta experiencia. Además, su ubicación es estratégica para conocer otros lugares de Bocas del Toro. Como aspectos por mejorar, consideramos importante mencionar que las habitaciones no cuentan con refrigerador y que, para conservar algunos alimentos o cargar los teléfonos, es necesario acudir al restaurante, lo cual resulta un poco incómodo. También notamos que algunas instalaciones muestran señales de deterioro y necesitan mantenimiento para conservar la belleza del lugar. A pesar de estos detalles, nos llevamos una experiencia muy bonita en familia. Es un destino con muchísimo encanto y potencial. Con algunas mejoras en sus instalaciones y comodidades, la experiencia sería aún más especial. ¡Sin duda, un lugar que disfrutamos mucho y que recordaremos con cariño!"

"A Magical Rainforest Escape – Highly Recommended! We absolutely loved our stay at Ataraxia eco lodge! The property is run by a very nice couple who make you feel incredibly welcome from the moment you arrive. It is beautifully located right in the rainforest, allowing you to completely immerse yourself in nature. During our stay, we loved watching monkeys playing, spotting sloths, and seeing a variety of beautiful tropical birds right from the property. The food was another major highlight. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and they also offer a healthy, plentiful, and amazing dinner for an extra fee, which is well worth it. The location is incredibly quiet and peaceful. It is the perfect place to disconnect, enjoy nature, listen to the birds and frogs yipping, and gaze at the stars at night. One thing that travelers should be aware of is that this is a true eco-lodge, so there is no air conditioning in the room. If you are someone who absolutely prefers to sleep in a cold room, keep this in mind. For us, it was part of a wonderful, authentic experience."

"Keeping in mind the value for money, this was our review of a 5 day stay in the over water villa. The Great: The property itself carries the weight of this resort. The villa was spacious with amazing views and the flexibility to spend 24/7 in your villa if you wished through room service, swimming, and water activities. Bar and Food were both great, from friendly staff to an extensive menu and flexibility to make substitutions. The spa is exceptional, situated in a tree house with breathtaking views and a variety of services. Seemless transportation from the airport. Where it fell short: Construction: While any property requires maintenance, the selling feature of relaxation and privacy in your villa is lost with workers consistently working on the decks around you or on neighbouring villas with loud power tools. No notice given or reparations for all the disturbances. Attention to detail: At this price level, and considering there are only 20 guests at any time on the resort, we had experiences like spelling my name wrong, dirty curtains in the villa, staff not following up. Additionally after 2 days of asking for hot sauce with breakfast, or sugar with coffee, it felt odd to have to continue to ask all 5 days. Consistency: I do acknowledge the resort on an island, and perhaps some ingredients are difficult to get. But ordering the same menu item or drink does get you the same thing every day. For example drinks blended or not, quesadilla meat flavour, and sides."

La Coralina Island House

"This is a beautiful property with many amenities and excellent breakfast options. Their restaurant was probably the best overall too. The morning yoga classes were an added bonus. La Coralina is about 15 minutes away from the town, so if you’re looking to walk around and be close to everything then this is not the right resort for you. They do have taxi service to and from the resort for $5 each person, which adds up pretty quickly. If you’re looking to get away from the noise and enjoy nature and sense of calm, then this is the right choice. I definitely do not recommend bringing children here, as they will be bored. Things I wished I knew ahead of time: 1. They will arrange for air port pickup 2. You can order anything on the breakfast menu. It’s all included and free. 3. The receptionist will arrange taxi rides to and from the resort. Just ask them ahead of time. 4. Get their WhatsApp number to communicate your travel to and from town. 5. Yoga included and no need to reserve. 6. Be sure you get the spa schedule ahead of time so you know about the activities. 7. You’re in the middle of the jungle so enjoy the trails. 8. When leaving the resort, walk to the right of the building to find a few nice spots with sandy beaches. There’s nothing going to the left side except dirt roads. You will need a taxi."

Tropical Suites Hotel

"We traveled with 2 other couples and had a lovely experience at Tropical Suites. Everyone from the front desk staff to the restaurant staff was pleasant and helpful. We ate in the on-site restaurant for several meals and the food was always tasty no matter the selection or time. Our room had a kitchen area and was a good size. They left complimentary champagne as a welcome gift. We travel to Bocas at least once a year if not more. This was our first stay here and we will absolutely be back. The hotel is centrally located steps away from the boat docks, shopping and cute cafes."

Bambuda Bocas Town - Hostel

"I absolutely loved it here! I stayed 3 nights with my husband and the only regret we had was not upgrading to the king suite. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The restaurant and deck were amazing. The food…let’s have a moment of silence for how incredible the food was. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was really a great deal because everything on the menu was exceptional. The drinks were also phenomenal. Even if you don’t stay here go to the restaurant. There were also daily activities organized by the hotel, like yoga, paddle boarding and a pub crawl. Most nights had live entertainment. I highly recommend this place. I will most certainly stay again."

"Everyone went above & beyond . The owner & all the staff especially the young woman managing the restaurant. The place is beyond cute . The owner is an artist . I stayed at resort the whole time to relax . I ate all my meals there & I am a foodie & they were all excellent. Something for everyone . My room was on the water with big glass sliding doors & A/C. Good for families & couples & singles of all ages . Wonderful."
