“We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. The location was perfect for a day trip to nearby Oban, which should not be missed, particularly for the seafood and Oban Distillery tour. “The hotel and our room was visually well decorated and quirky. Our room was unreasonably hot without the heater even being on. The temperature outside being approximately 13o. We could not open our window as some sort of generator was right outside. Noisey and possibly the source of the heat in our room?? The breakfast was again visually gorgeous and the breakfast selections ample.”

“The room was extremely cramped and very poorly maintained, including but not limited to a bad leak through the ceiling from the shower in the room above into our shower stall. Although the staff were pleasant and the location was convenient I would not recommend it and would never return to stay. ”
