Transportation and arrangements for storing luggage was so appreciated. We felt safe and well taken care of. Food was very good.

Safari Club is a fabulous place to stay. Close to the airport, free shuttle picks you up, staff are friendly and helpful (look after you like family), the breakfast is generous and delicious, and dinner is to die for. There is a pub on the grounds with a terrific selection of beers, wines and liquor. The rooms are elegant and clean with traditional thatched ceilings and comfortable beds. Lush gardens surround the hotel turning it into an oasis complete with a pool and BBQ area. If you are into birds we spotted 25 different birds in one afternoon. The staff are so welcoming, from Innocence’s 1000 watt smile as he met us at the airport to Cara and Alister’s kind and generous greeting at reception. You will love this place.

The hotel is lovely and the people very accommodating and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was a delicious full spread of everything one could want. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact, I am going back in 5 days. My only issue is that I paid Expedia but Expedia did not pay the hotel. It was embarrassing at checkout. I have a copy of my payment to Expedia, my Expedia account indicates paid but the hotel did not receive payment.

Charming hotel with that roofs and little bungalows, and a relaxing common area with interesting books about safari, etc. Very comfortable beds. You can have dinner with the dish of the day, which was very good both times we ate there. They do not serve lunch, but will arrange for you to have lunch delivered from local restaurants if you have a later flight out. Friendly and interesting host.

Very pleasant hotel, with rooms set as bungalows around main portion. We had a delicious dinner with the special of the day (you can preorder other things if you wish), and a good breakfast.

Exceptional service in very convenient location to Airport. Meals superb. Pickup at Airport easily facilitated. Would highly recommend over larger typical Airport Hotels

Nice small place near the airport. There wasn't much nearby but the hotel helped get a transfer to and from the Emporium to grab dinner. Loved the layout of the property, perfect with hanging with new friends from a tour we just finished.

This is a wonderful little oasis in an industrial area near the airport. The property and staff are great. The location is tough. They are directly over a flight path from JNB. The afternoon is brutal with a flight taking off every 5 min or so. Nights and evenings are reasonably quiet. It's doable for an overnight stay.

Great for our Stop-Over
Super helpful staff made our overnight stop-over in JNB great. Allowed us a late check-out for our evening flight. A very comfortable place.

The property is really close to the airport. My wife and I had one day to stay before going on safari. The hotel provided a driver to pick us up at airport and they provided a home cooked meal in the hotel for us at dinner. Very friendly people and very nice property.

Oasis near the airport
We stayed at Safari club just one night before leaving Joburg and South Africa. We wanted to stay near the airport and didn't want a huge chain hotel. Everyone that we met at the Safari Club was super nice and went out of their way to help us. They arranged for the shuttle to meet us when our flight landed and then took us back to the airport the next day. The hotel is really nice and does feel more like a safari lodge than something that you would find near the airport. While you can still hear the planes overhead you feel like you are a million miles out of the business that is that area. The wifi is currently having some troubles as they are transitioning the neighborhood to new service, but Al was up front about that straightaway when we arrived. He was also incredibly kind and accommodating in allowing us to have an extremely late check out before our early evening flight out. If you need to stay near the Joburg airport, you should definitely consider staying here.

O hotel é uma excelente opção para descansar depois de uma viagem na espera para voltar para casa porque é perto do aeroporto e é silencioso. As acomodações são muito confortáveis e no hotel existem serviços de alimentação. No entanto, quando fomos o wi-fi do jardim não funcionava e o jantar é um pouco acima do preço de outros restaurantes (não existe nada por perto além do aeroporto).

Good morning Graham Thank you for your feedback we always appreciate positive feedback. I am not sure what you mean by updating the beds as they are all new orthopaedic beds which where bought in June 2017 so are less than a year old. I am assuming you may have been in one of the rooms that we have not renovated the bathroom yet . This is an ongoing process and we do them as soon as we have space and time Thank you again for your feedback Regards Al

Disappointed
The gardens are lovely and our room and bathroom large. However we faced the freeway and the noise was bad and continuous. Being near the airport we expected the plane noise but with no double glazing it was very difficult to sleep. There were no clothes hangers. Dinner and breakfast were fine. The staff are charming and helpful and the airport transport smooth and efficient. I feel the price of the room in the circumstances too high.

We are aware that you can experience some flight noise however we have fitted shutters on the windows to block out noise so I will investigate why you where not told about the block out shutters. No clothes hangers is unforgivable and had our reception been told we would have addressed this straight away. Friendly and personal in a tranquil garden setting
This is a small, friendly establishment where you’ll receive personal attention from the owner-operators and staff who are eager to please. The garden setting is peaceful and green, and a welcome change from the big, multi-storey hotels. The owners were flexible with our check-out time, allowing us to relax by the pool all day while we waited for our evening flight. They supplied airport transfers, which were timely and efficient. The food quality was variable - vegetarian dinner option was good, but steaks were tough. Overall, not bad. Rooms are basic but spacious and comfortable, and an effort has been made to make them attractive with lamps, bamboo bed heads and a timber desk. Overall, a very enjoyable stay - thank you!

Great place close to the airport
We were picked up at the airport and the hotel is close so easy to get to after a long flight. The buffet dinner and breakfasts were also very good.

Loved the safari
We really enjoyed the safari club. We were so tired from our long trip and they bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and on track to continue our trip the next day. I would honestly recommend this hotel

Beautfiul, tranquil lodge 5 minutes from airport
This lodge is set in lovely grounds just 5 minutes from OR Tambo airport, Jo'burg. The rooms are large and well appointed. The free airport pick up and drop off are handy extras. The evening meal was delicious
