Kensington Metropark, Michigan hotel rooms at the Independent

"A good basic hotel. Nothing fancy, just a comfortable place to stay not far from UM north campus."

"Very dated. Room too hot. Couldn't cool it down. Bottom of bathroom door falling apart. Stains in tub. Window of room opened into hallway."

"Unfortunately the first Room Smells really Bad so we have to change to anode Facing the roof with a horrible view. "

"Breakfast was good , however the room had a lot of mechanical / HVAC noise was loud along with the plumbing, rooms were not insulated or sound proofed enough"

"The staff is great and the location is perfect for what we needed. Few things missing or not functioning when we got to the room. They where addressed the next day but attention to detail when cleaning the room would help"

"Desk clerk at check in was patient polite and friendly. Room was clean and spacious for a budget motel but in our two bed room the window a/c heater was uncomfortably close to the bed. As is becoming typical in motels, the comforter was too warm and bulky and there was no blanket available. We would have to blast the a/c to be comfortable under one of those ironically named “comforters”. I don’t understand this trend. Mattress average. Breakfast very simple but adequate with boiled eggs, yogurt etc. All in all, still one of the best value accommodations in A2. Beautiful grounds on the south side of the building, great for strolling and observing the wildlife and wetlands. "
