Superb Guest house with Fantastic people 100%.
We arrived at this wonderful Guest house and was greeted by Serena and Peter who made us feel at home straight away. We were shortly introduced to the rest of the Italian family who are all such kind and beautiful people. The entire place is spotless clean and Serena,s cooking is Amazing.We could have a full English breakfast everyday if we wanted and that was included in the price.In our room we had Tea & Coffee making facilities and a Kettle. We loved the people and the Guest house so much we are planning to visit them later this year. Please don,t just visit for a day!, spoil yourselves and go for a week or two, trust me you will not be dissapointed. All rooms are cleaned daily and we cannot praise these wonderful people and Guest house enough. 10/10 .

Welcoming and comforting stay
Stayed at this B&B for 4 weeks for a university placement. People running the B&B are friendly, comforting and have great hospitality. They are understanding if you have any additional needs. The room I stayed in looked nice, was clean and was well kept. There is great space in a single room, a comfortable bed and the TV is a bonus. Although its shared bathrooms, they are fine to use and are also well kept. The food service is brilliant and quick. Enjoyed may stay here and would recommend this B&B if you are coming to stay in Margate ( its also literally a minute away from the sea front!).

Staff were very friendly with good service, our room was a good size although the bed was extremely hard and the pillows were non existent.

Great place to stay in Margate
We had a great stay at the Westbrook Lodge Guest House. The room was comfortable, and everything was very clean, including the bathrooms. The full English breakfast was good, and best of all our hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating - they made our stay even more enjoyable. This is a great affordable place from which to explore Margate and the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

Good location, lovely staff, in need of some TLC
We had a lovely stay at Westbrook Lodge Guest House. The staff are so friendly and helpful and are a big reason for the popularity of the guest house. The guest house could do with some upgrading and improvement, which we were told will be commencing soon. I think this is a great guest house in a superb location. The breakfast was great, big portions and very filling. Overall a very nice stay.

Great hospitality, not too far from Dreamland.
Generally the stay in the guest house was pleasant. The overall decor is in need of an upgrade. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and the hospitality was fantastic. We would definitely return again.

Great for families
Conveniently located for the beach which allows dogs - at the quieter end of town but doesn't take long to walk along the front to the shops and the Turner Gallery. Lovely new owners. Could do with slightly softer matresses.

Great location lovely people
Guest house is in a great location, beach close. Tennis courts very close. Margate a few minutes walk away. It is quite basic, but my room was spotless and my complimentary creme egg was a gesture no other hotel has made before. Breakfast was hot, generous and freshly cooked. The owners are very kind, lovely people who are willing to help. It is quite basic with shared facilities and the decor in need of updating, but I really enjoyed my stay and preferred it to a faceless chain hotel.

Fabulous position, great sea view
We stayed here as we were attending a wedding close by. The staff were very friendly and assisted us with ordering a taxi and allowed us to book in earlier to change. A great place, lovely breakfast and very very good value. We will stay again.

The hotel owners are very very nice people but they have no idea how much potential they have in the B and B that they run. The hotel is very tired looking and needs total redecoration. If they did that and replaced the bed linen to all white cotton and had similar table cloths, if they replaced the bar with a modern one and wore smart clothes .... They'd be sitting on a gold mine !

Not too far from town or the sea
This was my first visit to Margate, and I found this hotel to be most adequate for my needs. For the price I paid it wasn't too bad at all, but I didn't like it had shared bathrooms, which I don't recall being in the description. Nevertheless it was a quiet evening so not many guests, therefore not a major issue but still not great. The one bathroom had a door which wouldn't properly close or lock so used the one that's so pink it's an assault on the eyes. Mind you, the facilities worked well at least. The guy running it was very friendly though, and the bed was fairly comfortable. The whole place was very clean and tidy, and the sea is a stone's throw from the front door. The railway station is around 13 minutes walk away (well, it took me that long, with big bags or slower walking paces allow 20 minutes), and if this is also your first visit to Margate don't expect a pretty looking place. All of it I saw looked rundown and unwelcoming. However the accommodation was absolutely fine in this case. The WiFi was also pretty decent, better than WiFi I've used in various places around Europe and the UK!

Een warm welkom nabij strand en speelveld.
Na een weekje Frankrijk verheugden wij ons op een leuke afsluiter in Margate, voordat we weer naar huis zouden rijden. We waren nog nooit in dit deel van Engeland geweest en ook de B&B was een gokje. Maar meteen bij aankomst hadden we al in de gaten dat we ons hier prettig zouden voelen. Alex, de eigenaar, is een persoon die op een bescheiden manier voor je klaar staat, zich niet opdringt en waarmee je een goed gesprek kunt hebben. Het gebouw en de inrichting zelf zijn wat verouderd, deden ons denken aan de huizen van onze grootouders maar dat gaf ook weer een heel knus gevoel. Een soort sentiment. Voor de luxe hoef je er niet heen maar wat is luxe als er geen passie is? Wij konden er doorheen kijken en hebben genoten van onze 2 nachten en de geweldige service van Alex! Ook onze kinderen van 5 en 3 jaar hebben het erg naar hun zin gehad. Alex is erg lief voor ze geweest en ze hoefden de Engelse taal niet te begrijpen om zijn toewijding te zien.

Einfaches aber gutes Hotel
Wenn man bei einer Englandreise auf den Geldbeutel schauen muss, ergeben sich nicht viele Möglichkeiten für eine günstige Unterkunft. Ich entschied mich daraufhin für eins der günstigesten Hotels in Kent und buchte ein Einbettzimmer. Nach einem freundlichen Empfang wurde mir mein Zimmer gezeigt. Dies war ein praktisches Dreibettzimmer und ich durfte ein großes Doppelbett statt dem gebuchten Einzelbett benutzen. Im Zimmer war alles benotigte vorhanden (Waschbecken, Föhn, TV, Wifi,...). Jedoch war mein Zimmer etwas abgewohnt aber dennoch sauber. Die Sanitäreinrichtungen auf dem Gang entsprechen der Zimmerbeschreibung - sauber und ordentich aber etwas älter. Fazit: Für einen schmalen Taler gab es eine ordenltiche Unterkunft inkl. britischen Frühstück.

A broken sign outside tells you everything
The guest house situates in a quiet residential area in Margate. Very close to the beach for a stroll, but it takes about 25 minutes to walk to town. The deco and facilities are old and tired. The double room was very small and crowded with chairs. Breakfast was a bit oily. Staff were friendly but in a creepy way. As there was very few hotels available in Margate, I would recommend this place to those who need it - but you have been warned.

Nice Neighborhood Stay
Nice to stay at a place with personality. Very hospitable staff, and lovely to be in a residential neighborhood just steps from a sand beach. Downtown was a nice 15-minute stroll down the beach, looking at seashells along the way. The inn is old and a little worn around the edges, but that's just part of the charm. A filling full English breakfast was a nice way to end the stay. Definitely worth the price.

Clean and Comfortable
This guest house provides good value for the price. My room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi worked well; I couldn't get the TV to work, but I wasn't too concerned about this. I initially had difficulty in locating the guest house; local streets have similar names. Still, it is well situated with a reasonable walking distance from the train station. It is close to the beach and the walkway leading to town. There is a bus stop near the guest house, but I didn't use the bus.

The cheapest option
I opted for this hotel because it was the cheapest I could find and had to stay in Margate for 5 nights. I only had breakfast twice. Each time I had to wait about 5 minutes for anyone to notice that I was there. The full English was very oily so the next time I just asked for two boiled eggs. I think he tried to make soft-boiled eggs but after managing to shell the top half of each egg, they fell apart, completely uncooked. I didn't bother with breakfast again. The bedroom had a very musty smell and despite keeping the window open as long as possible the faint smell of vomit never completely disappeared. The bed was too short, and uncomfortable. The bath towels provided were an assortment of different sized hand towels and one of the shower rooms had a broken lock that had been 'fixed' with tape. Although the shared areas were cleaned very regularly and well, my room was claned once in 5 nights and I even needed to take my own rubbish out before then. On the plus side, when I asked for a fridge they provided one immediately, it was the smallest one I have ever seen, but at least it enabled me to have breakfast in my own room.

Friendly Guest House
I have been using Westbrook Lodge to stay when I'm visiting Margate alone for over 2 years now. I love it's great location, friendly staff & budget price rooms. I don't drive, so being so close to the sea, bus routes & town is ideal.

Cheap digs
This rooming house is inexpensive and you get what you pay for. It is about a mile from Turner Contemporary on the other side of the town. No en suite bathrooms, run-down rooms, awful breakfast (no jam for the toast even), spotty internet, but a very welcoming and friendly staff. Unless you are dead broke, stay somewhere else.

Shame about the guest
I appreciate that the literature warns you that noise can be present. Mostly seagulls. Unfortunately the owner cannot know what the guest are like until its too late. On this occasion a couple were rather noisy even at 3 am. The Landlady kept offering her apologies. But as before she was not to know. I had a rather uncomfortable night, the bed was hard and the pillows flat and hard. Whether its a safety thing, but light streamed through the bedroom all night, although an attempt had been made to diffuse it. On reflection it was a nicely situated house away from the busy seafront. But not too far away that it was too far to walk.

great location fantastic service decoration dated
sea view room, comfy and decoration a little dated, clean and tidy, good breakfast set you up for the day. Had full breakfast including coffee and toast. So pleased that I booked to go back on the 25th August 2013 at the Lodge it self on my departure.

Stayed here last year and thought we'd book again, and wasn't disappointed either. Breakfast was nice although our mattress was a bit hard but we managed to sleep well enough. May well come back again next year too! Reasonably priced so more than likely!!

Nice time!
Arrived at the guest house and despite some confusion with our reservation we were shown to our rooms with polite and courteous attention. The room was comfy and we managed to get a nice sea view too. Breakfast was spot on and the price was very reasonable also. Considering the Premier Inn was more expensive and did NOT include breakfast I think we got very good value for money. I shall definitely be booking the next time I visit Margate.

Fantastic at this price
Traditional style B&B with distinctly 70s/80s decor. Cooked breakfast was included, and substantial although not quite perfect (toast seemed to be only white bread with no option for brown/wholemeal, orange juice was squash rather than fresh, semi-skimmed milk seemed not to be available). Cereal was also part of the included breakfast, though the contents on the containers didn't match the labels on them! (Strangely, if you want a continental or vegetarian breakfast, it will cost extra.) Staff were friendly and enthusiastic, happy to cook breakfast whatever time I needed it. Food is also available in the evenings, £5 for a large plate of fish and chips. Room was immaculately prepared, but suffered from some (not all) of the furniture being obviously extremely cheap. Staying during one of the coldest weeks of the year, it was good that the central heating was both effective, and also totally silent. Wireless internet worked well. The shared bathroom was adequate, and obviously kept very clean. Bed comfortable. Soundproofing between rooms was rather limited, but not a problem during my stay.
