When I stayed in the penthouse, this felt like a great secret find, and I mainly wish I had made more use of the kitchen and living space. I will have to come back, and wil have my friends stay in the other rooms so we can enjoy the site more fully! Great staff too, even when I was having a late-night arrival. I'm at least glad I walked across the street to the nice beach multiple times.

Okay, at first I was a little disappointed in the location, but it turned out to be great for us. We did a lot of exploring and visiting other beaches. The room was clean, spacious, and budget friendly. The beach is across the street. It was a great beach to walk but not as pretty or clear for swimming as other beaches. The property is very centrally located for exploring the island. If you plan to spend most of your time on the property, I would book elsewhere. BUT if you are looking for a budget friendly place for base camp, it worked out great for us! Note, it has a kitchenette but is not stocked with any dishes, utensils, etc. it does have a drip coffee maker with a small amount of coffee, small fridge, sink. It was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were super nice and helpful!!!

I stayed from May 20th to May 26th. The property is like a motel. But was clean and tidy and airy. Amenities - Free Parking in a narrow alley. Housekeeping was a hit and miss. Regularly used to get a message like this - Aloha from Kohea Kai! We wanted to provide an update regarding housekeeping services for tomorrow, x/XX. Due to staffing limitations and high occupancy, we will unfortunately be unable to offer any housekeeping or refresh services tomorrow, including trash removal, towel replenishment, sweeping, or mopping. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. If you need any additional amenities during your stay, please feel free to contact the front desk or reply to this message and we will do our best to assist. Mahalo nui for staying with us! Maybe, it is a place that provides value for money.

Tough timing to arrive right after the bad storm. This area was hit hard and we can imagine the work it took to get all back together. Staff shortage affected housekeeping but the front desk was helpful and cheerful in providing fresh towels and other needed items. No internet service but we were compensated fairly. Good A/C in our room and comfortable bed. We appreciated the complimentary use of beach chairs, umbrella and cooler. Easy to drive out of the rain on Maui!! Would enjoy visiting again when Kohea Kai is bright and shiny!
