Good, but a bit dated.

Nice accommodation, but starts to show its age. Everything is there though, but a bit old for the price. Mike from the Bar/Taverna made up for it with his extremely laid back attitude and good service. Ask him to do sweet crepes in the morning, you’re not going to regret it and have sufficient energy for the rest of the week...

Revisited after a year. Our continental breakfast was a dissapointment. It consisted only of bread and honey + coffe. No other options were presented to us. We've asked for yoghurt and it was the only alternative. Sadly it wasn't available at all once and on another day everyting was closed at last till 9AM so we didnt get anything and went to the beach. Last year there was a simple but sufficient breakfast buffe. Sheets were changed after ca 6days. We had to ask for room cleaning and toilet paper :/ There is one little towel in the common kitchen area and should definitely be changed reguraly not once a week. Wifi doesn't work in rooms upstairs. Some chairs on the terrace were broken. We might come back but rather for a few nights than 2 weeks. Potentially very nice hotel but need some more menagement and attention to details. In the same price range you can get a much much more luxorious experience in Chania (but there is no Elafonisi there ;).

Amygdalia getaway.

Our villa was lovely. The room was great and everything was lean and new. There are two or three rooms in each villa that share a common area w living room, tv and kitchen and semi private pool. Views of the sea. The bathroom also had a small washing machine. The only negative was breakfast which was included and not at all special. We ate dinner at the villa 'restaurant' our first night as we were tired from the long drive and didn't know where anything was yet. We only eat vegetarian so there wasn't much choice and it wasn't very good. Location was very secluded and beautiful. If you are looking for a spot away from the rest of the world, this is it.

Traumhafte, aber sehr isolierte Lage

Wunderschöne Lage und Elafonissi ist wirklich in der Nähe und vor allem in der Nebensaison sehr attraktiv. Die Amygdalia Villa war sehr konfortabel und der Gemeinschaftsbereich mit Swimmingpool riesig zum relativ kleinen Doppelzimmer. Die Aussicht ist traumhaft und alles ist äusserst sauber. Gefehlt hat der herzliche Empfang und die Betreuung während des Aufenthalts. Für den Preis war das Frühstück völlig ungenügend und für wenige Euros bekommt man anderswo deutlich Besseres. Trotzdem kann ich die Amygdala Villas empfehlen, vor allem für Leute, die Elafonissi und den Pool der Villa geniessen möchten. Anderes ist nur über lange, kurvenreiche Strassen erreichbar.

Great place to stay, very hospitable!

Very kind and hospital. Lodging is very nice. Don't expect wifi to work but with the view and the great people, you won't even care about internet. Very Lovely! I enjoyed myself and felt very relaxed when leaving, we actually wished we had booked more days with them just because it felt like a home away from home and quite a bit to explore on this side of the island. The host was absolutely amazing and her cooking was wonderful.

If you want a truly unique and amazing experience on Crete, stay here! Thalia and her family are incredible hosts, making sure every last detail of your stay is perfect. And not only do they provide the best food in the area, Thalia also gave us a recommendation for a restaurant on the complete other side of the island, in Elounda, which was one of the best meals we had on our entire trip!

Ein Ort zum Entspannen

Die Apartmentanlage Amygdalia Villas ist ein ausgezeichneter Ort zum Entspannen, Autoverkehr und Touristenrummel gibt es weit und breit nicht. Die Apartments sind in schönen, landestypischen Häusern mit jeweils 5 Einheiten zusammengefasst, zu jedem der Häuser gehört ein großzügiger Swimming Pool mit Liegen. Zu jedem Haus gehört eine gut ausgestattete und gemeinschaftlich genutzte Küche sowie ein ca. 40 qm großer gemütlicher Aufenthaltsraum. Die Gäste werden sehr freundlich empfangen. Der Koch bereitet jeden Abend landestypische Speisen zu. In der Regel besteht die Auswahl zwischen drei verschiedenen Angeboten, wenn man rechtzeitig Bescheid gibt, können aber auch individuelle Wünsche bedient werden. Das Essensangebot war während unseres Aufenthaltes immer sehr schmackhaft und grundsätzlich frisch zubereitet, eine sehr willkomene Abwechslung zu den sonst häufig angebotenen Standardessen in den Touristenhochburgen. Ein Auto ist absolut empfehlenswert, da sich in direkter Nähe keine EInkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden, auch bietet sich zum Schwimmen eher der Strand von Elafonisi an (ca. 10 km), der mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nicht erreichbar ist.

Amazing Quite Stay

This place is amazing. The Villas are so nice and very well maintained. You have the comfort of an entire home virtually (+ a pool) right at your finger tips. The staff is great and you'll see the same friendly faces each day. The food was nice as well. It's tucked away in a beautiful almost hidden place in Crete right off the coast line and within a few minutes drive to Elafonisi beach along with many other great amazing views and things to see along the way. The Villas are within about 1 1/2 hour drive to Chania- another main city in Crete of which we made the drive twice and it was pleasant. Definitely a great stay and look forward to going here again.

fantastic villa away from it all

Getting there does take along time. From the Kissamos area, it took us about 2 hrs on a very curvy and scenic road. Follow the brown "Amygdalia Villa" signs. we loved the stone work of the villas. Thalia was there to greet us. Her english is very good. Her husband is a very good chef. We had the day special of whole fish with potatoes, it was WOW.. good price of 18E. Our 4 bedroom villa was only 1/2 occupied, late May. The mattress is kinda hard so we put the duvet cover under the bottom sheet, which made it more comfy. The deck has great ocean views. Roomy kitchen with 1 fridge. tv works but DVD player does not. Elafonisi Beach is 14km or 20 min drive away.. The surrounding neighbourhood is rated 3 stars because of neighbourhood dogs barking late in evening or early morning, which is quite annoying.. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience, 2 nights were not enough there. We hope to be back.

Wir haben uns wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Die Betreiber sind alle sehr nett. Zum Essen gab es kretische Hausmannskost und Wein aus der Gegend. Man hat einen tollen Meerblick und kann den Sonnenuntergang genießen.

Marvelous place on the mountainside overlooking the sea. The seaview room we had faces the very nice pool area, shared with two or three other rooms. Quite far from shops or restaurants but the very helpful hotel staff provides everything you need. Delicious breakfast and dinner. The cold water in the shower one morning is the only thing that was not perfect with this stay

Quiet location to get away from it all and relax

These villas are in a small village on the fairly remote western coast of crete. The views over the water are incredible, as are the sunsets. We had the two bedroom villa, which was great as had a private pool and patio. The little taverna run by the owners is also lovely and v authentic. A short 20 minute drive to Elafonisi beach, and a number of others nearby too if you want something less crowded.
