"This is a hidden gem that I literally stumbled upon. This area is famous for agriculture so the food was sourced locally and amazing. The staff is international so even if you don't speak much Japanese you will be fine. It is peaceful and fun to walk around the area. We even met a young tomato and melon farmer who showed us his greenhouse. It was like staying in a ancient Japanese palace in a very local village. The price was so worth it and the cafe and various places to use my PC made this...

"Very nice hotel. Not new, but our stay was lovely and the bento box breakfast was delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great price, we would stay there again"

"The staff treated me so well. Working with me even with a language barrier. After a few weeks of the Tokyo and Osaka life, that place was a slice of heaven, my only regret was not staying longer. The baths were nice, the place was super clean. Transportation to get there is a bit difficult, but that I think is what makes this place attractive, since it's in such a nice, quiet part of Japan. Going there during the Sakura season was amazing too. "

"I recommend Genjikoh for the amazing Japanese experience of enjoying the open bath overlooking the ocean and the various activities in the hotel such as the scent workshop. We booked a room for 5 and it was spacious and was pleasantly surprised it has 2 toilets. The sea view was breathtaking. We don’t book the meals as we don’t eat raw food but we had difficulty finding a good eatery outside as there are few amenities nearby and they close early. This place is great for those who drive but...

"Stayed for one night while going to Toba aquarium. Room was amazing very large and with a beautiful view of the sea. Staff were great very helpful the entire time. Hot drinks were free from a relaxing bar on the 1st floor. Breakfast was a Japanese style. Various different. Vegetables, fish and some fruit with rice, udeon and miso soup. We were even provided a meal voucher for the night when we arrived. Can't speak for the baths as we didn't use them for the night but I'm sure they are lovely as well. If your reading reviews to pick what place to book. Id say go with this one. "
"Did not have a great time at this place. It is more suited to retired old Japanese people who want to go to the onsen. Felt a bit uncomfortable as we were the only westerners there but people were friendly. While the view was good from our room, the beach was dirty and not maintained. If the hotel would have paid someone to clean the beach up every morning it would’ve been a better experience."
"Upon our arrival, an employee greeted us and helped with luggage. The public area was elegant and displayed so many beautiful artwork and antiques. Being at the top of a hill and by the ocean/bay, the view was gorgeous especially during cherry blossom season. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection mainly Japanese food including pacific lobster miso soup. There was a spacious coffee/tea ( snacks) area with the same beautiful view. Our room was a tatami, sofa set, and bed combo and was very spacious. It offered coffee beans with a mill and various tea bags. We didn't use our room bath as we bathed in the onsen which providedmany amenities. The room also provided a bag of amenities as well.
Overall, we had a lovely 2-night stay and would like to have stayed a bit longer just to relax in the room."
