Called maintenance a couple of times and the GM who offered to change the room at least. Very cool property, but unfortunately the type of people that stay there and the staff make it a bad experience."

However, the front door of the hotel says it all and the lobby really made a statement. We were so impressed with the restaurant all the way to the room! "Arrived while multiple huge conferences were going on. The front doors were closed for entry and exit the entire time we were there and the elevators rarely worked due to the amount of people using them. Had to walk up and down the stairs to the 15th floor multiple times. "

"This is a safe, cost-friendly option for the Upper West Side. We took the Park and Ride from Secaucus to Penn Station and then the 1 train to 96th Street to come out near the entrance. Really easy. This is a no-frills kind of place. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Fixtures looked like they were straight out of the Ikea catalog. TV worked fine. We were not in NYC to spend much time at the hotel. Central Park is a hop, skip, and a jump away. Plenty of places to eat and grab a slice. We felt safe the whole time we were there. Parking is off site and getting the rate requires you to check in with the staff at the hotel first (we decided on the park and ride into the city, anyway, so it was a moot point for us). Advertised as 3:00 check-in, but we got there after about noon. Our room was not ready, but they did take our bags. We went out and grabbed lunch nearby, came back and we were in our room before 1:00. We wanted to see the Guggenheim and the Met and they were just opposite us on the other side of Central Park. Enjoyed the walk. Would definitely stay there again. "
