“Very helpful front desk staff. Property has construction going on, but that only affects the outside appearance (all other facilities are in great condition). A little expensive, but everything in Stowe is unfortunately. ”

“The room was very comfortable to stay in, although I thought I detected a slight musky smell when I first entered it. The service was very good and efficient. The breakfast and afternoon snacks (which included Onion soup) was so well cooked and delicious. The building is great looking and the private riverside area and covered bridge just a few steps away were so welcome bonuses to my stay. Highly recommended.”

AWOL is located just a short drive (like 1 - 2 minutes) from restaurants in and around downtown Stowe. It was a great home-base. It's on the route to Smuggler's Notch and very near the Mt. Mansfield Toll Road (both things I recommend doing, especially the Toll Road. There's a hike at the top that is so worth it.).
