The hotel was very charming and well-located. However, there is no staff on site at all. You need to go to another hotel (3 minutes walk away) to speak to someone. Restaurant was supposed to be on site, but it was closed. Breakfast was to be served from 7-10:30 each morning but at 8, the food ran out and wasn’t going to be replenished (a large tour group apparently ate everything before the rest of us woke up). Room was beautiful and very cozy but the beds were really hard. Pillows were terrible. Overpriced for what we actually received. All other hotels in town were much cheaper, had restaurants that were open and had staff on site.
Since the Schilthorn corp. bought this property it is being run as an afterthought. Front desk closed, no communication with guests before arrival as to how to gain access to room, they left an envelope with key card that didn’t work, had to wait for someone from sister hotel to walk over and fix. No breakfast here, had to walk to sister hotel for that and restaurant closed during our stay. Better to book elsewhere
Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. The room has everything needed for the comfortable stay and the view from the window was amazing.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my two-night stay. The location is excellent, but that was the main positive for me.
The hotel felt almost completely self-service, with very little information provided and no one readily available to help or answer questions.
The biggest problem was the bed and bedding. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and I could barely sleep for two nights. There was only one very soft pillow, so I actually had to use a folded bath towel as an additional pillow. The blanket/bedding also had an unpleasant, paper-like fabric that made noise whenever I moved during the night.
Mürren is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately I would not stay at this hotel again.
We enjoyed access to town, breakfast (which was great), and the views of the mountains. Staff was helpful. It was a bit complex to manage having no staff at the hotel. It was owned by a sister hotel and we needed to go there to get more information and meet our needs.

Great hotel - lovely wood rooms. Loved being in Mürren, beautiful town, great views, loved the sound of cowbells in the morning. Breakfast was nice.
My only gripe was the bed - it was CREAKY. It groaned like it was being tortured if you moved the slightest bit. Woke up several times at night because of the noise. Didn't help that the hotel was upgrading their lobby, so the only people we could talk to about a different room were in another hotel, a few mins walk away.

Our check in experience was terrible. We were given a message to go to a partner hotel and after dragging our luggage uphill to that hotel they told us to go to back to the reception of the Hotel Blumental to find an envelope with our keys etc. Very frustrating at it takes a lot to get your luggage here given you travel by train and then cable car and then face an uphill climb. Once we had our room, the safe was locked and only the cleaning lady who was very nice was around. She did not know the code and it took until the next day to get it open so we could use it. I think the hotel should give guests a number to call if there are issues as we felt we were on our own at the start. We later saw a vehicle taking luggage from the cable car stop to the hotel and back; a service that was not offered to us. All of this said, once we got over the rough start we were very happy with the chalet we booked and the included breakfast is very nice. The hotel is in a great location in the middle of Murren and Murren was our favourite stop on our holidays. The hiking and the views are amazing but be prepared-you are either walking uphill or downhill.
Located very close to Gare Lyon Part Dieu, this hotel is ideal for those needing to take an early-morning train. Reception staff were very friendly. We paid for breakfast at check-in, but this information didn't make it to the breakfast staff the next morning, although it all seemed to work out in the end. Breakfast was decently priced compared to other hotels on our trip, but we didn't care for some of the selections, so wouldn't choose that option again, although we would stay at the property again when passing through Lyon.

Check-in consisted of a room key left at the front desk with no attendant present, and a note that Hotel Blumental was transitioning to a partnership with another hotel. The note stated if questions arose, guests were to walk to the other hotel during the hours of 9-5 for assistance. This was inconvenient and concerning, as there was basically no one from the property onsite. I am allergic to feathers and needed to request different bed pillows and a comforter without feathers. Unfortunately there was no one to contact (we arrived at 5:30 PM). Spent the first night of my stay sleeping with a towel for a blanket and another towel for a pillow. Breakfast consisted of cold cereal, juice, yogurt, boiled eggs, and bread. Pretty basic, and it would have been okay if it were not for the large quantity of very persistent flies buzzing around the food and our table. We spent more time swatting flies away from our food than eating. I'd stayed at this hotel about 8 years ago and found it to be charming. This recent visit was a disappointment.
Superb service at breakfast and all around. Loved our relaxing stay! Ammelia (apologies if I misspelled her name) was brilliant at making our stay extra special with her recommendations and advice. And swiss chocolates 🇨🇭❤️
We had a very nice room on the first floor with the balcony that looked out over the main street and had a view of the Berg.
The hotel is a short and convenient walk down the main street from the cable car.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, particularly Amalia! During our stay, Amalia was there every day serving breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with her. She also helped us out with an express package that we were having delivered to the hotel. She was just wonderful!

This hotel is definitely out dated and not worth the stay…. Rick Steve’s was wrong. Our room was for 4 people and had two separate small rooms that was hard to move about. The out dated bathroom had a big step in tub and a little tiny shower head that was very hard to bend and shower under. To get to your room it is all stairs and carrying your luggage was challenging. The breakfast buffet was a total let down. I included photos. Both days was just bread, jelly, fruit in a basket, and some limited cheese and lunch meat layed out. The second day breakfast was infested with flies everywhere. All over the food and seating area. We couldn’t stand it and had to leave. It seemed like no one was working there and staff was limited. I would spend the extra money and for sure skip this place. We visited 7 cities while traveling Switzerland, and this was by far our worst hotel, and most expensive for just two days.
The room was cute and cabin-like however the bedding was terrible, as during the night it would fall to the floor and the so called pillow was hard to describe, flat as a pancake and lumpy, certainly not comfortable.
There was no fridge nor kettle which should be standard in hotel units.
