“This is a great hotel to stay at while exploring the Forest of Dean. The rooms were quaint and clean, the breakfast was delicious and the pub downstairs was cute.”

“Luxurious room! We splurged for the nicer room and wow! Wonderful staff, good beer selection. We needed to leave early the next morning so the chef packed us a picnic breakfast with lots of fruit, a blt sandwich, crackers and jams and cookies. Ate it on a hill overlooking a field of sheep and the town below. So memorable!”

“Apartment was very spacious with everything we needed. A continental breakfast was provided which was appreciated. We had dinner at the pub one night and it was delicious. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of parking available. There is no lift and entry/exit is via external fire exit stairs at the rear of the building.”

“Five stars for old and charming. I've taught about the use of coaching inns in play production during the Tudor period. I'm from California, so it was very exciting to see one in person. I recommend the best room--the Oak. It's reasonably priced and will make you feel as if you are in a period movie. The New Inn is well located for seeing the Cathedral, which is unusually rich in history and warrants a guided tour. The bar carries a very good selection of beer.”
