Fabulous location within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. Very helpful polite and friendly staff at reception, in the bar and restaurant, and at breakfast. We stayed in the old building rather than the annex and, as is often the case with old buildings, there were some quirks but nothing that was a problem. We would happily stay there again if in the area.

Had a very good overnight stay… Dinner & breakfast were very tasty and well cooked. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom looked a bit tired on first impressions but was comfortable and the shower was excellent.

The Bell is very central to the town making it ideal. As the property is OLD, the stairs in main building are not suitable for elderly people as too steep. Most of the floors in the whole building were sloped and uneven, Room 7, every floor was very sloped, the room was tiny but serviceable enough, No drinking water was provided in the room,but a FAN was ,which was very much needed. The menu we felt was limited for snacks, but prices were equal with the rest of the town. Dogs were allowed in and on a couple of occasions Dogs were fighting each other,that was very unnerving. The car park is small and is a pay and display, which allows customers of the pub to use,this can make it hard to find a space if stopping in rooms.

The staff were very accommodating and cheerful and parking was perfect, right outside the hotel. Good choice of food on the menu too. The only downside, there was no usable basin in our bathroom. The metal plug was jammed in place so it was awkward to have to bend over the bath to do your teeth etc
