“Had a nice 1 night stay in the Brander Lodge Hotel whilst enjoying the local area. Parts of the hotel could do with some tlc, but the breakfast room, dining room and bar area were lovely and the food was great. We liked the gardens with the river at the bottom. Bedroom clean and comfy. Great hotel for the price. We will go back.”

“The view out the front window of the hotel is beautiful. The food was ok.. not amazing. I ordered the risotto and it was terrible. We ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for drinks and their restaurant was booked and had more options. Jay the manager was super friendly and the room was comfortable and the bathrooms newly renovated and clean.”

“The staff were lovley, they were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The atmosphere was lively, warm and welcoming. There was a good choice of evening meal and the breakfast menu was also varied and freshly prepared - excellent quality all round especially the coffee!”

“The property was nice but felt like any little “extra” came at a cost. Hot Tub? You had to pay per person for 30 minutes. Have not seen that before. No laundry facilities as advertised and cake in drawing room was added to invoice on check out. Nice property but be aware of extras. ”

We were greeted with a smile and friendly conversation, plus some great recommendations about our travel in the area. It’s obvious that a lot of careful thought has been put into making this B&B a wonderful place. ”

“It was hard to find staff, especially for lunch. Our room was down a weird warren of hallways up steps and down steps. The room and bathroom were attractive. The pillows were awful! They wouldn’t fluff. It was a heatwave when we were there. The cleaning staff left the heater on. I was hot and couldn’t sleep. There wasn’t a fan to help move the air. Dinner was expensive and bland. The shower was difficult to get in and out of.There were no extras in the bathroom you would expect from the price...

“first of all there is no elevator which seems strange, as you have to carry your bags . secondly there was no air conditioning. the room was really hot and humid. we could not open the windows as it was right on the road with lot of traffic noise. a small fan was provided which was not helpful”
