Everything about my stay was very good except for the problem with my reservation when I first arrived. My reservation didn't show up in the computer and I was going to have to pay for a room AGAIN if I wanted to stay there. I called Expedia and they took care of it for me.
This Hampton Inn is extraordinary...much like the Hampton Inn in Corolla, NC...because they are different. This Hampton Inn has beautiful historic grounds, is located within walking distance of downtown Lexington and W&L. The swimming pool is great. We had the opportunity to see a beautiful rainbow over the mountain view from the rear of the hotel. Loved this place.
The property is unique having been a plantation and manor house. We stayed in a room with a king and it was clean but a bit dated. The door also opened to the outside so there were flies in the room. Bed was an average comfort level and the free breakfast was standard. The mountain views surrounding the property was lovely and it was a short walk to downtown Lexington.
Only good thing was location making it walkable to restaurants and shops.
The room and hotel had a musty and moldy smell throughout. It was very difficult to be in the room due to the smell. Very uncomfortable stay.
