“I stayed at Quinta de São Luís (Vine House) and I have to say, this was hands down the highlight of my entire trip to Portugal. I’ve traveled quite a bit, but I had never seen anything this beautiful. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. “The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too! Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun! ”

Breakfast buffet was delicious, lots of fresh food choices and an omelette station. Great pool area with breathtaking views of the Douro River. Comfy sun loungers. Our room was clean and spacious. Only downside was a lot of steps up and down from our room to the restaurant and pool. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. ”
