The room was clean and neat. Perfect for what we needed. Saves driving 1/2 hour to the next closest lodging. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return when we are next in Carlinville.

The Carlin Villa was a small, clean, comfortable, and affordable motel that celebrated being on the original Rt. 66 road. It was convenient to town and shopping and restaurants without being IN town. It has a lovely outdoor picnic area. We would stay there again.

A nice, quiet place, a bit off the beaten path. I was looking for a place to stay before the eclipse, and here they were, not too far away, not charging ridiculous prices, and well worth the money!

Clean, quiet and comfortable. Owner was very accommodating when we had a health-related cancellation. Continental Breakfast selection was poor.

We were very skeptical when booking for one wedding night. Honestly, it was way less sketchy than we'd anticipated. The gal at the front desk was INCREDIBLE and I immediately felt like we'd made a good choice. We had a king room in the back of the far west building and it was very quiet, overlooking a pond. The building and rooms are very outdated and in need of remodeling, HOWEVER: our room and the building were very clean, homey, and perfect! I truly would stay here again if ever in the area. I definitely give it an overall score of 5/5.

This motel needs lots of maintenance. Several signs saying to do this or not do that to make things work. It's very dated. Looks like 60's decor. This was probably a very nice motel 30 years ago. Breakfast was a pot of coffee and little packaged cupcakes. There was plenty of hot water and the AC worked fine but was a loud window unit stuck in the wall. The folks running the place were very nice and when I asked for a hair dryer, they immediately provided one bringing it to my room. I liked Carlinville. Great pizza place north of the square, etc. but I don't think I'd stay in the Carlin Villa again.

Great Stay!
We had a great stay! Came to town for a late concert and decided to stay for the evening then drive home the following morning. We checked in at almost midnight and the gentleman was still in the office to greet us. Our room was quaint but exactly as the pictures showed. Very clean and we slept well. Would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful!!!
Absolutely wonderful! I knew it was an older hotel and I think the picture represent the establishment well. The lady who checked me in was so nice and explained everything, had the heat on and waiting for us! We only stayed one night, in town for softball. Everything was really clean! We stay in hotels close to every weekend the majority of the year. This was more clean than most of the big name hotels we’ve been to the last couple years. Very pleased! Will return if ever in the area again!!!

Clean and cozy. Could use some cosmetic updates, but overall great for the price and location. Our room was huge and the staff was pleasant and helpful.
