I rated as fair due to lack of real people on site. The staff that I interacted with remotely were very helpful and courteous. This hotel was very close to the Lynchburg Baseball Stadium, which is why I was staying in Lynchburg. The door to lobby was locked when I arrived so I followed instructions to pick up red phone and wait for someone to answer. I tried 3 times and each time got a recorded message that there was no one available at the extension. Finally a person's image popped up on the check in screen, which I could see from the door. I could hear that she was saying something. Then the door lock clicked and I could get inside to actually check in via video screen. The connection was poor and I had difficulty understanding the person. But, it all worked out. Just frustrating at night after 9:00 PM. Also, I requested an accommodation room and was assigned to one, but the only accommodation was one hand bar to use to step into the regular bath tub. No hand hand bar near the toilet. Recommend that more detail be given regarding after 9:00 check-in, and a description of accommodation in handicapped room. Also, I would like to know if anyone is onsite overnight. I've never stayed in a hotel where there was no real person on site to check me in, even after hours. The only options at the free breakfast was carbohydrates, but there was a good selection of breads and cereals.

We checked in via FaceTime/computer and did not interact with staff. Because it was Liberty Univ. parents weekend we paid $300 for a room that was very simple so I’m sure the price was jacked up. There was no continental breakfast (as per info provided). I paid a similar price at the Hampton Inn in prior years for more amenities.

This was a last minute reservations, after Wyndham/rodeway lost reservations for many of us, attending a conference for 5k women. Needless to say, we panicked and made this reservation, expecting a dump. That is NOT what we got. The room was clean, towels were thick and clean. Breakfast was fine. The check-in was weird. I was uncomfortable doing this as the entire room of people listened. That is my only complaint. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Econolodge clean with friendly staff

Just stopped over for the night en route to the Blueridge Mountains. Hotel Manager was lovely, very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and our stay was very good.

The motel was great. One complaint was when we checked in around 10pm, the clerk had us check in through a pane of glass. It was pretty cold standing outside. Perhaps the neighborhood was not safe, but it would have been nice to have been invited in for checking in.

Great visit to this EconoLodge

Great access from the highway. We were also very impressed with the warmth and cleanliness of our room. It was very comfortable. The room always smelled great when we returned. The hostess (Audrey) when we arrived and during our stay was so kind and friendly—she was funny also—making her guests laugh. I felt bad for her as she had been there 37 hrs straight—not being able to go home to sleep—even though she was very tired—she did an excellent job—always attentive to her guests. They do need to get extra help as one person cannot handle everything for everybody for so many hrs/days straight. If we go back to visit that area, we will stay there again.
