L’hotel si trova in una posizione centralissima e vicina alla stazione dei treni e ben collegato mi ha ricevuto un ragazzo di nome Andrea bravissimo preparato e paziente .. sorvolo su il prezzo di una bottiglia di champagne.. la stanza grandissima datata coperte del medioevo che rilasciano peli e batuffoli di lana .. doccia spettacolare con acqua bollente a fiume pochi interruttori per controllare la luce .. la cosa terribile è la colazione .. il personale vestito senza divisa con gli stessi abiti del giorno prima per terra il pavimento non lavato il tavolo idem con tazze e piatti e posate veramente indecenti … il becon tagliato troppo spesso non te lo puoi scegliere perché decidono loro le uova stracotte senza uova sode senza formaggio insomma una bruttissima esperienza … non lo consiglio .. la colazione è l’inizio di una giornata lavorativa ..

Such a beautiful and hospitable hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here and they were very accommodating. Also loved their bath products and the lobby smells amazing! Only wish we weren’t travelling overseas so I could have further enjoyed the beautiful adjoining flower shop.

I probably should have done my homework on this hotel before booking my stay. I had to learn the hard way that it’s known to be one of the top most haunted places in Manchester. Don’t get me wrong, the building is beautiful, the lobby is beautiful and the rooms are great. But the tension and anxiety you feel as you walk through the hallways after getting off the elevator .. it takes away the whole purpose of being relaxed at a hotel. The hallway lights are sensors so they stay off for the most part, and at night it’s the most creepiest experience ever. I would only recommend this place if you enjoy that kind of stuff, otherwise it’s not worth it.

The staff was great. The room was clean and beautiful . Not your ordinary hotel which made our stay that much more special. The English breakfast was wonderful and yummy. The restaurant at Kimpton - the Refuge food was delicious. The Kimoton is close to all your needs whether it’s for food convenient stores or buses and trams. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic one night stay at this hotel as a family of four. A very comfortable room, and brilliant breakfast, but what stood out the most was the staff - everyone we came into contact with was so warm, helpful and friendly. Thank you!

I moved from the excellent nearby Brooklyn Hotel because I wanted to spend a couple of nights in one of Manchester's grandest and most impressive buildings. The lobby isn't large but is beautiful. The hotel itself is a fascinating maze, which lots of strange turns and unexpected interior details. It isn't quite luxurious -- the age of the building precludes that -- but it is quite nice. I very much liked my room with a large (and very nicely appointed) bath and views (a little restricted by smallish windows) on three sides including over the nearby railtracks. Basically, this is a very nice hotel in a very unique setting. Probably not as impressive as it was at its heyday - but fun and comfortable nevertheless.

Property lovely. Room very warm and air con didn’t seem to help. Ordered a chilled bottle of wine to be delivered to the room before arrival…but it wasn’t there! Then got charged to my card afterwards anyway!! :)

My Dad and I went to see Manchester United vs. Liverpool at Old Trafford. The hotel staff was great about showing us how to navigate the tram system so we took the tram from St. Peter’s sq to ManCity to take the stadium tour and to get to Old Trafford for the game. All of about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Lots of great food within walking distance, had a great breakfast at the hotel. They were having train strikes during our trip so the hotel staff got us a driver to get us to the airport. Everyone was so nice and helpful, would definitely recommend coming back.

The building was amazing! lots of history. The Bedroom and facilities were 1st class. Would highly recommend staying here and will stay next time we are in town. Its next door to the Palace theatre and 20mins walk from o2 Apollo.

The hotel is nice with a great restaurant onsite. Other dining options plus a grocery store are an easy walk from the hotel. Concierge and front desk were great. One of the best hotel gyms I’ve experienced. My only 2 issues are that they have company meetings/events which take up areas that can be used by guests specifically the game area. Also noise from the street and the DJ at the restaurant can be loud.

Loved our stay, only slight annoyance was the pool table being effectively unsuable, but we loved our room and the staff were excellent.

A 5-Star Disappointment
We stayed for three nights over a weekend in late January. Check-in was efficient and staff friendly and polite. On Saturday night there was a private function in the basement ballroom until 1.30am with booming music being played by a live band coming up the open staircase and easily heard our third floor room. You could hear every word of each song: it was like a karaoke in our room! We called to complain about the noise at midnight but reception said a room move wasn’t possible because the hotel was full, apologising that she couldn’t help. The music got louder so we went to see the receptionist in person and encountered drunken abusive partygoers and vomit in the ground floor corridor. These people had free range of the hotel. Some were on our floor shouting and screaming, and popping balloons. It was disgusting: all this in a supposedly 5-star hotel. The next morning we spoke to a manager at reception. She was understanding and offered a discounted room rate and a bottle of Prosecco as an apology, which was appreciated. But why did the situation arise in the first place? Breakfast is buffet style but served by staff. Food is tasty but lukewarm. The menu promised flower pot muffins and bagels, neither of which were available. A server apologised, saying that the menu needed to be updated. It’s probably a cost cutting exercise. Overall there are too many negatives to recommend this hotel. I’m sorry to say that we’ll never stay here again: there are plenty of alternatives

Fantastic hotel
This was our second visit here and it didn’t disappoint. The building generally is beautiful. The rooms are lovely, quiet and well equipped with toiletries, handy things and some treats too. The staff are lovely. We’d highly recommend getting the breakfast here, it’s amazing and there’s loads of choice. The bar attached to the hotel is great too.

Excellent. Beautiful. Very friendly, down to earth staff. Staff at breakfast super lovely. Clean, well decorated. Loved the artwork in the rooms. The plants everywhere just make you feel so chill. Will 100% stay here again.
