Booking this type of accomodation we expected some bugs but this was hundreds of bugs, and being stung and biten all night, so we got very little actual sleep. “The evening show was great. There were a lot of choices with the food. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were limited washrooms and one was closed most days. The pool smelled like pee. Renovations outside our room for the duration of our stay were noisy and dirty. WiFi is slow and all amenities info is online, so access to the needed information was lacking.”

“Stunning views from restaurant and room across as far as lake Arenal. All the food offerings were fantastic from breakfast to evening meals using home grown and home made items. Regular supply of wildlife to keep you entertained. Only slight negative was a reasonably long walk up a steep hill to get to the nearest shops etc but that’s no fault of the hotel. Also be aware there is no A/C in the rooms if you are as lucky as we were with the weather.”

“My daughter and I enjoyed 6 nights at El Sol and felt as if we had truly discovered the “heart” of Costa Rica. The staff were friendly and there to help with anything we might need.
