“The rooms were really clean, and the staff was amazing. They were helpful and attentive to anything that I needed. The food, oh my, the food - so, so good. Over the course of a week, I had the fish & chips, the burger, a chicken Caesar salad, and multiple variations of the eggs Benedict. “This was a great stay. A beautiful heritage property. Felicia and her Paul were fantastic hosts. We stayed with our son his wife and their 22 month old toddler. They could not have made us more welcome. Felicia was very accommodating about breakfast and other things as our son was running the Cheshire held marathon. The breakfasts were all delicious. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.”

“We only had an overnight stop here, but it was a great place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room and general public areas of the property were all fine. We had an evening meal and a full breakfast and they were both very tasty. Having an EV charger (22kW) in the car park was a really useful bonus as we left our car to charge overnight. “This pub was a great find, lovely staff, great breakfast, parking easy and free. The history was amazing. The Gaskell tower is a must. We stayed in a heatwave , the room was warmer than expected, and we should have asked for a fan. The only slight problem, not the pubs fault, it is on the direct flight path for Manchester airport, they did stop flying between the hours of 11.30pm-6.00 am!!”

Large room with kitchenette ( fridge, microwave, two ring cooker, kettle, sink) En-suite bathroom with bath, power shower and W>C, towels supplied in room. Continental breakfast included in price. All this for just £31 per nightt highly recommended.”

“Lovely hotel. Stayed with my wife for her birthday. We had a deluxe room which was quite a long walk from hotel reception. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was massive! Only negative points for the room were the amount of cobwebs and dust around light fittings and soundproofing between rooms. We could clearly hear people in other rooms using their toilet facilities. “The staff at the hotel was so so lovely and very helpful. We were racing at Oulton Park and it was a hot weekend and they always filled my water bottle with lots of ice so I could stay cool. The restaurant had good food. For a very simple hotel I was very impressed with the staff and also how clean the room was. It's definitely not a super fancy hotel but for a quick drive to the track it's great.”
