Montreal, Quebec hotel rooms at the Independent

"Not too bad. The location is pretty convenient. It is walking distance to the Old Montreal and China Town, Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, Place Jacques-Cartier etc. The complimentary breakfast has a variety choices. Overall, this is not an excellent hotel but it is not bad when compare to the price and location. "

"Stayed here for a Canadiens game at Bell Centre. It’s an easy 5 minute walk. Room was clean and well kept, the bathroom is very small but manageable, front desk staff was fantastic and welcoming. Lobby area was nice with lots of places to relax and eat. A small store with snacks, drinks, Habs, Expos, and other great souvenir's. Only one elevator was working, and it was very small. Lots of waiting time to go up or down from high floor. I would absolutely stay here again for events at Bell Centre. "

"Staff were very friendly and laid back. They made check in and out very quick and easy. Room was massive with a full kitchen. Great place for a family to stay. Breakfast was included and decent: cold and hot cereal; coffee and tea; various breads; hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cold meats and cheeses. Coffee and tea were always very hot which was great! The location was great - only a 15min walk to Bell Centre. Room was clean but the smell of cleaner was very strong in the room (that would be the only thing they could improve). Overall, this was an amazing deal for what we got! "

"Staff were great, the food at the restaurant if I compare it to other restaurants could be better especially since the portions given are less than other restaurants and cost the same. Perhaps "hide" the toaster...there was a lot of condensation in the hotel room as well"

"5 star for public facing amenities. 3 star for the room itself. a hotel of this quality really should not have cheap sliding bathroom doors that don't lock. also, tissue box was not refilled. "

"we arrived early said room not ready. said come back in an hour we were told it was not ready again. that was at 2,55 pm woman did not even look at computer. at three shift change went to new girl to ask when room would be ready she looked at computer and it had been ready.we called the day before and they told us if room ready we could check in. plus smelled od pot. the whole time."
