This property was a classic property in Paonia. We had a very pleasant stay with a delicious home-cooked breakfast. It’s in a central area of Paonia which made it convenient to walk around. We would definitely return. The only disadvantage I could see is it is not an accessible property from what I noticed. Otherwise definitely a good choice.
Mike and Suzanne are wonderful, the food is amazing, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the rooms are beautiful, the location is perfect, and the historic inn is absolutely flawless.
Such a beautiful experience! The breakfast was phenomenal and all the amenities were very thoughtful. Our room had a claw foot tub and it was so relaxing!
Bross Hotel is a work of art. Proprietor Mike was born for this job. The breakfasts were the best I've ever had - beautiful, unique, tasty. What a treasure!
Very pleasant stay. Very clean, excellent staff and service, breakfast was great. Quiet, very restful and low key stay. Bed was comfortable. Wife’s only complaint was no TV…. Oh well… Definitely a 5 Star…
Fantastic…but for those of you who like TV, there are none anywhere on the property. Also, no elevator, our room had no shower (just a bathtub)…but the sheets are fantastic, as are the breakfasts. The coffee is really weak, however but always there at 7 am. I think it’s the best place to stay in Paonia.
There are very few options for staying in Paonia, but if there were 100, this would still be the best! Great comfort, great bed, wonderful hospitality, outstanding breakfast. Cannot recommend highly enough.
We stayed in the Perfect Pear room and loved it! They include bubble bath for the wonderful claw foot tub which was great and the breakfasts were so delicious! The bed was so comfortable, it felt like I was in my own! Really recommend staying here!
Suzanne and Mike were fabulous and gracious hosts. The hotel was incredibly charming and quaint in a beautiful area. We were served a very thoughtfully-prepared and delicious breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend staying at The Bross if you visit the area!
What a lovely place to stay! Charming and very clean and comfortable. We were worried about the whether it would be hot (98 degrees that day!) but it was cool and comfortable. The breakfast and coffee were fantastic. Would recommend to anyone!

Beautiful Hotel
The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and very charming. However the king size bed in our Pear room was very uncomfortable with big sink holes in the mattress and there was no shower only a bathtub. Breakfast was very disappointing.
Mike and Suzanne are great hosts. The breakfasts were outstanding. They easily accommodated my need for gluten free meals. Our room was comfortable. I am recommending this B & B to anyone staying in the Paonia region. My only warning is that if you truly need accessible features, this may not be the Inn for you. The rooms are on the second and third floors with no elevator.
I had notified the owner that my husband cannot have dairy or eggs, when I made the reservation. The owner/manager seemed unaware, but since the breakfast was French Toast, my husband was able to eat it.
The following day, I woke up feeling very unwell (happens after 7 years of cancer/60 treatments). The same person asked me if eggs over easy would be ok, and I said no, I was feeling very unwell and would appreciate something light. He became ANGRY and snapped that this is NOT how B&B works. I apologized and tried to compromise; how about scrambling the eggs? He became irate as he informed me that this would not work for the dish! At this point my husband asked why I was being asked if sunny side up was ok, since clearly there was no other choice. The owner stormed away; he came out several minutes later and told me that he would give me the same thing he was giving my husband, since he couldn’t eat eggs. A delicious bowl of yogurt and granola was given to me (and my husband); I reiterated that unfortunately I just felt unwell and I thanked him for the lighter fare.
I KNOW this isn’t how B&Bs work. But, since I refuse to live in a cave just because I’ve had cancer 4 times, I have occasionally had to make special requests. NEVER have I been treated like this, as you can see from all of my other reviews.
Such accommodating hosts in a place with a lot of history! I would recommend this to anyone traveling through the area. And the breakfast was out of this world :)
Boutique hotel, nicely appointed. Owners onsite and actively involved in making sure clients’ needs are met. My gluten free breakfasts were just as special as everyone else’s!
Lovely bed-and-breakfast. However, be aware that the owners are very pro-vaccine. If you are unvaccinated, even for medical reasons like myself, be prepared to be treated differently.
This is a 115 year old hotel/Bed & breakfast. It is in excellent condition, well maintained, and has a superb breakfast and coffee. Our room included a bay window a very comfortable bed, windows that open, a ceiling fan, and room furniture that is of the time period the Hotel was built. It was a hot day in Paonia, in the 90's, yet our room was cool to sleep in. Guests have a choice of showers or in some cased old bathtubs.
This is a grand hotel I strongly recommend.
