Mt. Washington Auto Road Tours

This is the beginning of the Mount Washington Auto Road, which is an option for reaching the summit if you don't care for the incredible adventure of hiking it. Also, if you do hike to the summit but things go awry and you can't hike back, you can hop on a shuttle (with your dog!) that will you drop you off here, at the entrance, from which point you're on your own to get back to wherever you've parked.

What a magical place Mt. Washington is!! Was not expecting to be so nervous on the "double lane" road that leads up to the summit mountain camp, 8 miles in total but at least 4 are extremely dangerous travel on tight mountain roads with certain death if u happen to go off the side.. Leading to a elevation around 6300 feet, the highest point in the north east!!!

We arrived I guess before the winter season even though it was Mid-October. It snowed so the road closed our first day, the second day they decided to close for the season. The staff was friendly and can’t wait to return to complete this off our bucket list.
