However, when I arrived for breakfast on the morning, I was told that only a continental breakfast was included, and that I would have to pay extra for a full breakfast. This was a great choice as the hotels location was ideal, being a few hundred yards from the start of the Llanberis path. “This hotel was probably state of the art 35/40 yrs ago. It’s very well photographed but in honesty… it’s awful. Rooms are worn out, carpets in places are threadbare. Bathroom had various it’s broken or loose. In the evenings was a constant smell of over cooked vegetables that was very unpleasant. Having spoken to locals it’s recently been taken over but it’s in need of HUGE investment I (and neither will my colleagues) definitely won’t be staying there again.”

“We gor a great welcome form Huw and Jon. The evening meal and the breakfast were perfect absolutely no complaints. Our room was ideal for what we needed and it was comfortable. Only one tiny issue the plug in the sink doesn't fit properly so water is not retained long enough for shaving for example. Everything else was perfect so we were very happy and would definitely stay again.”
