โI stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. This was a very clean hotel and was comfortable as the shower was quickly poured in the hot water in the morning or at night. โThis a great place to stay that is in the Victorian era mode. I hope the basic decorum and vibe of the place never changes. It is a throw back to another era and all of the pictures from earlier times in Kolkata and the hotel and news clips are very interesting. Yes there maybe some pealing paint (which to me is part of the charm) but there is a touch of class throughout - e.g. white table cloths, real crystal wine glasses, antique furniture. โMy trip to Kolkata with my son was great thanks to Jameson Inn Shiraz! Hotel facilities seemed a bit old but very clean and comfortable to stay for 5 nights.ย Also, all staff members there were really nice, kind and very helpful so no complaints at all till we left.ย Highly recommend this hotel to those who are looking for any good place to stay in Kolkata, especially for the people trying to volunteer at the Mother House like us as it takes about only 10 minutes on foot from hotel to Mother...

Breakfast is not great but will do. You have to walk outside to get to the breakfast area so dont go out in your slippers, especially if its been raining. (when it rains, water collects in the outside area)
Walls are on the thin side, so if you're a light sleeper, make sure you have ear plugs.
