8.2/10 Very Good! (5,161 reviews)
This is an older property on the water. Multiple buildings somewhat connected. Check in was generally easy, but because we booked using Expedia at a discounted room rate, we were given the least desirable room next to the elevator machine room. We had to trudge all the way back to reception through a maze of buildings where we were offered a quieter room.
There is virtually no soundproofing from the hallway. The carpeting appeared clean, but I would not suggest walking barefoot. The shower was strong and hot. The room was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
I was not expecting an additional daily fee of $45 to park our car!! So much for the discounted room charge.
We were 5 minutes drive from the very fancy shops on 4th Street, and a 13 minute drive to the North Berkeley BART.
Adequate for 1 night, but a bit of a tired hotel.
