Room was very clean tidy and well supplied, staff were all excellent, all meals were hot and tasty and at a reasonable cost.
Only down side was the noise from drunken smokers just outside our room window as we were trying to sleep would recommend you avoid room 241 for this reason, otherwise it was an excellent experience.
Lovely room with fantastic view.
Very pleasant staff. Food was excellent.
A little chaotic over staffing levels to cover bars. Sign would say a bar was closed and to use the other bar in the restaurant but when you went to that bar there were no staff working on it. They had to leave the restaurant to serve the drinks.
Have stayed on a number of occasions and will definitely book again.
Nice scenic clean rooms.the bacon and sausage could better on the cooked breakfast

Having stayed at The Haven on several occasions previously we found the breakfast very disappointing when compared with our previous stays. Car parking also has a new regime in place. Rooms seem as before. The menu for evening meals was also much reduced from previously- so we ate out during our stay. All things considered if and when we travel to the area again we will look elsewhere for accommodation. Pity really because we have some fond memories of our previous stays. The hotel itself seems unchanged and is in a great position.
Lovely clean room , comfortable bed
Sea view
And delicious breakfast
Staff very friendly , lovely atmosphere

Position on mouth of river. Clean good breakfast and evening meal.
Staff seem unhappy not very welcoming.
Conflicting information both on line and in hotel.
Beautiful location and excellent staff. We felt well taken care of. My one critique, is our bed was listed as a king bed but it is only a queen. They ended up moving us to a room with two beds, but they seemed surprised with the feedback about the bed size.
Stoped here in numerous occasions, very convenient for South Shields, Newcastle and Sunderland.
The staff are great and itโs located right next to the river Tyne near the Herd Groyne.
The property could possibly my do with a little updating now, but clean and tidy.
Access to the beach and views across the Tyne watching the ships arrive and depart perfect. The breakfast was not as promised on the menu and service much more dismissive and disinteret / rudeness by surpervisory staff not on a par with previous vists .Croissants, fresh fruit , choice of yogurts and other pastries non existent. No apologies or alternatives offered and if you were opting for
soley continental breakfast tinned peaches, prunes and
toast not very appealing and definitely not as advertised. For a weekend stay even more disappointing. Needs to get back on track.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Restaurant is really nice with a great outlook, very short staffed, the food was nice but cold, husband had ate his gammon before receiving his vegetables which we had to ask for. The worst bed I have ever slept in, small hard and lumpy, no sleep.
Location is really nice, but we wonโt be back
