"We had an absolutely amazing stay at B&B Sole. The hospitality is genuine, the setting is picturesque, set in the middle of lemon farm - perfect balance between traditional Sicilian charm and modern comfort. "I really wanted to give this hotel 5 star, but I simply can’t! The majority of the hotel is perfection and it was an absolute luxury having three days there… the pool itself is a wonder with the view to mount Etna, and so is the restaurant next door to the pool which overlooks the water. One issue was the rooms. We were give a nice room but the electricity didn’t work. An electrician came and after 20 mins of waiting, it was back on. But then it broke again the next day and we were once again waiting for an electrician to come for c.30 mins. This delayed our evening plans. They decided to move us to another room - but it was smaller! They the moved us again to one of their newly refurbished rooms which although really lovely, the air-con didn’t work. I gave up trying by that point as we had to leave anyway. The inside of the hotel is quite dated and when we arrived we really weren’t sure what we were in for, but the pool is the attraction and rightly so. Another reason why I can’t give 5 star is because of the shuttle buses. Although its great that the hotel provides free shuttle buses to and from the town, they are not frequent and book up really quickly. If you miss out, you need to pay for a taxi to the town which is around 20 euro one way. More shuttles are needed. "

"Warning! Avoid this hotel Our stay was made hell by monstrously loud Friday night music till almost 1am. When l got out of bed to complain ..l wouldn't normally but the sound was so loud - l found other guests also begging the unhelpful front desk.man to do something about it. One poor lady was crying. He promised it would end at midnight. It didn't. When l went down again at almost one o'clock he denied the party music was still playing!! He also lied to my husband about it. Eventually l got his boss to get the sound down Clearly the hotel Makes it's money from parties not the poor suffering guests. But surely they could A. Employ kind polite staff who are not rude to customers And B . Invest in sound proofing for the deluxe rooms . It was a rotten experience . But the whole thing was hell The hotel was also in a poor location.and rather old fashioned. But "

"Villa Chiarenza Maison d'Hôtes was a stunning century old pensione with antique decor, beautiful artwork, and amazing views. We loved the owners who were extremely welcoming and helpful. Even though they don’t speak English, we were able to get by on our limited Italian and Spanish. The homemade breakfast changed daily, and was freshly made from local ingredients. We had a double room with two twin beds and a queen. It was nicely decorated with some Italian treasures and paintings. It was ideal for our family of three, including a 4 year old. The hotel is closed to many attractions. We wished we could stay there longer. "
