“Looked a bit old fashioned but loved to stay here as I rather prefer family run independent hotel than big chain hotels. Breakfast was also great and more than others, members of their staff were incredibly helpful.”

“A one night stay which surpassed our expectations. Veneto is a well appointed room. Check in was the most friendly and informal we have experienced. The restaurant had a good buzz, the food was excellent and breakfast was novel and most enjoyable. Even the car parking was well organised. ”

“The Royal Oak has a wonderful location in a quiet village setting and visitors can expect a relaxing change of pace. The countryside around is spectacular for England and the people are without exception friendly and helpful. I'm perhaps biased because my family lived in Gt Ayton in the early 19th Century and although I was born in North Yorkshire today, as a visiting southerner it's very much my home ground.
